HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTION OF ESTATE SURVEYORS AND VALUERS, ABUJA BRANCH'S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON 4TH AUGUST, 2026, AS THE 13TH / FIRST FEMALE CHAIRMAN BOWS OUT IN AMPLITUDE.
It was an auspicious gathering filled with an atmosphere of conviviality and fulfillment as the NIESV Abuja branch held her AGM, marking the end of the tenure of her 13th and first female chairman, ESV. Folake Odusiga FNIVS and the installation of her 14th chairman ESV. Chukwuebuka Anih FNIVS.
The immediate past chairman who was filled with joy and gratitude conveyed her appreciation to the branch members for the support and love given to her all through her tenure whilst wishing the new administration a successful and fruitful outing. After dissolving the outgoing executives, the electoral committee took the stage to declare the election results for both the YESV arm of the branch and the branch executives and thereafter the oaths of offices were administered on the new executives by the 2nd Vice-President ESV Shola Abeji FNIVS and certificates of return presented to them by the President of the institution and Chairman of Council ESV. The AGM was massively attended and was opulently graced by some national council members, past presidents of the institution, the ESVARBON Registrar, and board members and past branch chairmen viz: ESV. Dr. Ethel Mendie FNIVS, MNI (honorary national secretary), ESV. Chief Lansar Aghaji FNIVS (Asst. National secretary), ESV. Nwamaka Ofoma MNIVS (Asst. National publicity secretary), ESV. Snr. Apostle Emma Alao (un-officio council member and past branch chairman), ESV. Pastor Victor Ayeye FNIVS (un-officio council member), ESV. Hadji Mutiu Balogun FNIVS (un-officio council member), ESV. Olabode Abdulazeez FNIVS (un-officio council member), ESV. Janet Shehu FNIVS (ESVARBON Registrar), ESV. Supo Matti Balogun MNIVS (ESVARBON board member), ESV. Onore K. Onore MNIVS (ESVARBON board member), ESV. Chief Emeka Onuora PPNIVS (past president of the institution), ESV. Rowland Abonta PPNIVS (past president of the institution and past branch chairman), ESV. Dr. Ayodele Ibuoye FNIVS (past branch chairman), ESV. Kola Olayode FNIVS (past branch chairman), ESV. Adamu Kassimu FNIVS (past branch chairman), ESV. Banjo Adeleke FNIVS (past branch chairman) and ESV. Hajia Salamat Umoru FNIVS (coordinator, NIESV Abuja women's wing).
The new branch chairman ESV. Ebuka Anih FNIVS, after his acceptance speech, dissolved both the electoral and audit committees for the period 2024-2026 and then called for nominations for the same committees which were ratified and inaugurated by the chairman for the period 2026 - 2028. True to his promise of ingenuity and innovation, the chairman introduced two new committees - the GROUP LIFE INSURANCE COMMITTEE and ARCHIVES AND DATA COLLECTION COMMITTEE. He assured of availing the terms of reference having inaugurated the members of the Group Life Insurance Committee only.
The meeting ended after the exhaustion of the agenda and celebrations / pleasantries followed.
