NIESV ABUJA WOMEN'S WING EXECUTIVES PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE BRANCH CHAIRMAN AT THE BRANCH SECRETARIAT

The women's wing of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Abuja branch, earlier today, paid a courtesy visit to the branch chairman - ESV. Chukwuebuka Anih FNIVS, MBA, Mphil at the branch secretariat. The women's wing who was led by the branch coordinator ESV. Salamat Umoru MNIVS congratulated the chairman on his emergence as the 14th chairman of the branch, wished him well in steering the affairs of the branch and pledged their unalloyed support of the branch's women wing throughout his administration. The coordination of the women's wing also presented the programs of the wing, which they said may likely span through the tenure of this administration whilst soliciting for the support of the chairman and the branch.

The chairman thanked the entourage for their thoughtfulness and acknowledged their visitation. He also commended the women's wing for their being proactive with the scheduled programs they presented, which he said will aid the branch executives in decision making so as to avoid a clash of activities or programs. The chairman assured the women's wing of his continued support personally and as a branch which has translated to deliberate appointments of the women in key positions in various committees under the branch stating that the success and or failure of the branch will hinge more on the commitment, performance and support of the women's wing.

On a concluding note, the women's wing presented a plaque of honor / award to the chairman and a gift in honor of the occasion of his birthday. Amongst the entourage was the immediate past coordinator of the women's wing ESV. Frances Kamen Ashaolu FNIVS and other members of the executive of the women's wing.

NIGERIAN INSTITUTION OF ESTATE SURVEYORS & VALUERS, ABUJA BRANCH EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE PAYS HOMAGE / COURTESY VISIT TO THE PRESIDENT AND CHAIRMAN OF COUNCIL AT HIS OFFICE AT THE NATIONAL SECRETARIAT.

The recently elected executive committee members of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers, Abuja branch, paid a courtesy visit / homage to the 27th President and Chairman of Council - ESV Mallam Bature Ali Muhammad PNIVS, FCAI, MIFMA, MIRWA, AIMC. ANIMN, pslc at his office at the national secretariat led by the branch chairman ESV. Chukwuebuka Anih FNIVS on Monday 24th August, 2026.

The branch chairman thanked the president for the privilege of accessibility granted to him and his team and stated that they came to reaffirm the branch's support and unalloyed loyalty to his administration. He took turns to introduce every member of the branch executive committee member to the president. A few management committee members who joined the president in welcoming the branch executives were the 2nd vice-president ESV Shola Abeji FNIVS and the national secretary ESV Dr. Ethel A. Mendie FNIVS, MNI. At the beckoning of the president, the 2nd vice-president congratulated the executive members on emerging at the last polls. As the branch closest to the seat of power, he encouraged the executives to, as part of its agenda, focus on identifying areas of potential threat to our practice and engage statutory stakeholders proactively especially in the area of policy formulation and legislation within the FCT that may border on our practice with a view to nipping them in the bud early. He referred to recent legislations in some states that have been passed regarding remuneration on agency fee, and adviced that the branch should be able to respond accordingly to such legislations referencing the ESVARBON act that empowers and sets our remuneration on such services which is a statutory documentation from the Federal government that regulates us so as to avoid being caught in same web of incursions that may distabilise us, should such arise.

The President, after thanking the 2nd vice president for his remark, congratulated the chairman and his team and in addition, advised that they consider engaging the EFCC in some of its branch programs / trainings to avoid frictions as is being experienced currently in a particular branch. The President also recalled a real estate stakeholders event in which the institution was invited and had the audience of the Honorable Minister of Housing & Urban Development, which eventually culminated to our institution being adopted into some committees working with the ministry as recommended by the minister himself. On that note, the President charged the branch chairman and his executives to be on their toes as they may be called upon at any time to step in as a frontline for the institution as matters arise. He advised that the branch should create and or maintain a committee of liaison persons in ministries, departments, and agencies who will always update the branch on issues of government policies and statutory matters that affect us so we can react timely and accordingly. He assured the branch chairman of the readiness of the national management committee and council of forging a cordial and seamless working relationship with the branch to the benefit of the institution and profession.

The branch chairman, ESV Chukwuebuka Anih FNIVS, expressed immense gratitude to the president for his counsel and encouragement and assured him that the branch will work in absolute guidance, leadership and support of the national as he will always liaise with the 2nd vice president on every proposed programs and or activities so as not to be found over-reaching.

The President thanked him, and the visit ended with some shots.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE NIGERIAN INSTITUTION OF ESTATE SURVEYORS AND VALUERS, ABUJA BRANCH'S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON 4TH AUGUST, 2026, AS THE 13TH / FIRST FEMALE CHAIRMAN BOWS OUT IN AMPLITUDE.

It was an auspicious gathering filled with an atmosphere of conviviality and fulfillment as the NIESV Abuja branch held her AGM, marking the end of the tenure of her 13th and first female chairman, ESV. Folake Odusiga FNIVS and the installation of her 14th chairman ESV. Chukwuebuka Anih FNIVS.

The immediate past chairman who was filled with joy and gratitude conveyed her appreciation to the branch members for the support and love given to her all through her tenure whilst wishing the new administration a successful and fruitful outing. After dissolving the outgoing executives, the electoral committee took the stage to declare the election results for both the YESV arm of the branch and the branch executives and thereafter the oaths of offices were administered on the new executives by the 2nd Vice-President ESV Shola Abeji FNIVS and certificates of return presented to them by the President of the institution and Chairman of Council ESV. The AGM was massively attended and was opulently graced by some national council members, past presidents of the institution, the ESVARBON Registrar, and board members and past branch chairmen viz: ESV. The new branch chairman ESV. Ebuka Anih FNIVS, after his acceptance speech, dissolved both the electoral and audit committees for the period 2024-2026 and then called for nominations for the same committees which were ratified and inaugurated by the chairman for the period 2026 - 2028. True to his promise of ingenuity and innovation, the chairman introduced two new committees - the GROUP LIFE INSURANCE COMMITTEE and ARCHIVES AND DATA COLLECTION COMMITTEE. He assured of availing the terms of reference having inaugurated the members of the Group Life Insurance Committee only.

The meeting ended after the exhaustion of the agenda and celebrations / pleasantries followed.
