BEFORE PEOPLE BUY YOUR PRODUCT, THEY FIRST BUY THEIR TRUST IN YOU.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned from building businesses is this:
Trust comes before transactions.
But before people could believe in that vision, they had to believe in the person carrying it.
My character became part of my collateral.
My word had to mean something.
If I promised something, I had to make every effort to deliver.
If I made a mistake, I had to take responsibility.
If there was a problem, I couldnโt disappear.
Because people were not only watching the product.
They were watching ME.
My integrity.
My consistency.
My competence.
My character.
My ability to keep my word.
But as a business grows, something important must happen:
TRUST MUST MOVE FROM THE PERSON โ TO THE PRODUCT โ TO THE INSTITUTION.
At the beginning, people may buy because they trust you.
But you cannot build a great company where everything depends on the founder.
Eventually, your PRODUCT must speak for you.
Your delivery must speak.
Your customer service must speak.
Your staff must carry the standard.
Your systems must protect the promise.
And your company must be trusted even when you are not in the room.
That is how a personality becomes a brand.
And that is how a brand becomes an institution.
This is even more important in real estate.
We are not simply selling land and houses.
We are selling peopleโs confidence in tomorrow.
Someone may be giving you money they worked 10 or 20 years to save.
Someone may be investing their retirement.
Someone may be buying the first home their family has ever owned.
You cannot play with that trust.
This is why I believe:
TRUST IS THE FIRST PRODUCT YOU SELL.
Before the land.
Before the house.
Before the investment.
Before the beautiful marketing.
First, they TRUST YOU.
Before you move into market, do thorough due diligence.
Note that one client alone can change the entire history or story of your company.
