Title: Is Real Estate a Myth? Here’s My Story.

For 3 years, I was deep in the transportation industry — driving for Bolt and Uber. I made good money. But at the end of each day, I spent it. No savings, no structure, no plan. Just hustle and survival.

Lesson 1:No one should run a business without learning how to save.
That season taught me the importance of financial discipline. (If you haven’t read The Richest Man in Babylon,”* please do — it changed my mindset.)

In 2023, I transitioned into real estate. Honestly, I didn’t have it all figured out — but I trusted the process, stayed consistent, and kept learning.

Lesson 2:Real estate is about relationships and trust.
I didn’t have capital, but I had something more powerful: people who trusted me. I approached a few with N1M–N5M to invest in land. I closed 3 deals totaling N15 million, earning a commission of N1.5 million.

I bought good clothes because presentation matters and I deposited for land
Here’s the catch:
You can get a 250sqm land valued at N4M and pay in instalments across 6 - 12 months.

Then something amazing happened

August 2023, I paid N300,000 deposit for a 450sqm plot in Kurudu (valued at N1.7M).
June 2024, a friend called:
A client wants land in Kurudu. It’s going for N6.5M. Can you sell for N4.5M
I said YES.

I flipped the land.
After all commissions and processing, I made a N2 million profit.

Lesson 3: Real estate works when you work it.
I realized this is not a myth. It’s a strategy. Buy smart. Sell at the right time. Build trust. Keep learning.
