Living in ABUJA (Nigerias Capital) is becoming more interesting by the day! Much more interesting and promising it is if you own properties- especially your own house or a thriving business! Just about some 15 to 20 years back, people were skeptical of the satellite towns and would rather not own properties there as most people wanted to live in the city center. However, the rush forced a quick rise in cost of property and only those with deep pockets could afford the city. Thankfully, the earlier arrivals and those who owned properties here soon became billionaires and millionaires and the city gained more value.
Most people soon realised that the satellite towns were not as bad, yet skeptics stayed aloof while the big boys acquired more than they will ever need. KUBWA, Fo1, LOKOGOMA, LIFECAMP, JABI DUTSE, KUJE, LUGBE, IDU and a whole lot of places were considered bush or too far and they say "why will I buy a property in such a place". Guess what, we even begged some people to just buy and give it to farmer to be farming on it while they waited for the life they want to come to the land.
Some heed to our advice, most didn't, in fact, much more will rather " WAIT TO BUY LATER" only for them not to have an explanation of how the money were spent. And then they come back speaking in the language of the man who never left his bed but said he was awake "I WISH I BOUGHT A PROPERTY HERE". Surprisingly, some who bought as a result of their friend's continuous disturbance lost track of some of their own location (as development come, the matter choke!)
I read the story of an old Lady who was given Three plots (3plots) of land as payment for money she borrowed someone and she rejected it, but the debtor insisted and only dropped the papers with her letter of consent transferring ownership and signed, leaving the column of the new owner to sign, dropped the paper and left. The new owner accepted the papers when she realised her debtor had no way out, no alternative to pay
