APC PRIMARIES: ADELEGBE GETS RETURN TICKET,
- DEFEATS OPPONENT WITH 101 TO 11 VOTES,
- PROMISES MORE GOODIES.
The incumbent member of national assembly representing Owo/Ose federal constituency under All Progressives Congress, (APC), Hon. (Dr) Timehin Adelegbe has won the party's shadow election held in Owo.
In a landslide victory, the political statistician won the election with 101to defeat his main rival, Dr. Oshodi who polled 11 votes.
The overwhelming victory followed weeks of high-tech politicking and political gerrymandering by the duo wooing delegates across the 23 wards of the federal constituency.
Some of the delegates who spoke with the press at the end of the peaceful election attributed Adelegbe's victory to hard work and diligence.
According to the Secretary of Ose Local Government Council, Hon. Folorunsho Omage the banker turned politician worked his way to the hearts of the delegates through provision of physical projects and meaningful Empowerment programs at the right time and in the right place as his presence could be felt nearly in all the nooks and crannies of the federal constituency.
Some Frontline leaders of the party in Ose Ogbeni Bobade Omolade and Taiwo Elerewe asked rhetorically, "how can a sitting rep member who built about four event Halls, two multimillion Skill Aquisition Centres, mega Hall of Fame, Science Laboratory Center, Five Blocks of Classroom, multimillion Empowerment programs fail in crucial election like this ?.
Others from Owo attributed his resounding victory to sincerity of purpose and high level of integrity in dealing with the people saying his loyalty to the leadership of the party and his spirit of shareful giving earned him the massive support.
In his victory speech, Otunba Timehin Adelegbe thanked the delegates, APC leaders in Owo and Ose and all his supporters for believing in him.
While calling on his opponents to join hands with him to build a constituency of Owo/Ose collective dream, Adelegbe said the task ahead is a joint responsibility which requires contribution of all.
As he put it, "we have to come together to bail out people our from the aerobic circle of poverty, we still have a lot to do in the area of physical, economical and social development and to get there, we must all come together to achieve the goal".
