Survey equipment are selected in accordance with the Job type and terrain situation
E.g topographical survey
Very undulating/hilling areas with tall vegetation and very few or no details, I will prefer GNSS

Undulating terrain but not hilly with lots of tall buildings and other details, I will prefer total station. Most preferable reflectorless.

But for stable/ near flat terrain within a small area or setting out of elevation, I will prefer Automatic Level instrument.
