Session Topic: Introduction to Effective Communication and Leadership in a Rotaract Club

Synopsis

Effective Communication and Leadership is the key tool to the success and growth of any club.

The Rotaract Club Officers during the training were taught on how to effectively lead and manage a Rotaract Club (skills & knowledge needed for success in their various club roles)

For an effective leadership and management in not just a Rotaract Club, the following should be considered:

1. Good communication skills.

2. Time meetings to finish on time.

3. Must be a good listener.

4. Leading without controlling.

5. Negotiating successfully with your members.

6. Stimulating balance / healthy discussions.

7. Must have a good strategic plans (on membership, foundation, public Image etc.) The goals are necessary if you want to effectively lead and manage a club.

8. Involving club, board or group members in decisions that affects them.

9. Recruiting new but passionate and service oriented members. Know who you are introducing nor inviting to your club meetings. Tell them the financial involvements.

10. Managing operational cost, tracking your club spending and so on.

11. Checking up on your members frequently. A good welfare strategy.

12. Treat your guest (intending members) well whenever they fellowship with you.

13. Membership engagement (delegating duties, grouping members into cells, committees and get them actively participating).

14. And many others not mentioned.

Considering all these, a leader will successfully do well in leading and managing his or her club.

Topic: Nurture A Viable Business Idea

Wow, today's topic is thought provoking and challenging. I must appreciate Comr. Omenwa Arinze Benjamin for impacting this reels of knowledge at this time when most business individuals needs it the most.

I learnt alot today. First, it's very important we know that the bed rock of every business is the idea behind that business. If the business must succeed, THE IDEA should be married inn.

I learnt that as a consultant in my Real Estate business, that for me to gain good root and succeed profitably in that which I do around the Real Estate world, I need to nurture a Viable Business Idea. An idea that will inturn give me sustained revenues / profits.

More to the business knowledge impacted today in which benefited me, is identifying practical ways of knowing and having a Viable Business Ideas. One of which is love. What you love doing is just the principal tool to what becomes of you tomorrow in the business world if truly applied. I must be willing to nurture that which I so much love doing, analyse it, put value to it, reach out to my targeted audience (customers) and by so doing I am gaining presence and revenues coming to me successfully. Staying and leaving unchallenged and happy in my comfort zone won't bring in revenues for me. I must be willing to entertain pains, that which cost me something in order to gain freedom financially. Permit me to use my boss in the Real Estate business "Dr. Nzubechukwu Ekebosi, Chairman / CEO Reliable Groups (Homes, Ushering, Security services)" - I decided to join him as a business partner because he is succeeding in the Real Estate business. And as one of the practical ways of identifying a Viable Business Idea, I didn't give it a second thought rather than to join in his success train. It has helped me I must confess. His results are proven.

Finally, I was encouraged to also identify all the revenue stream of my idea, list them out, sell out those ideas of mine practically, sell my messages, sell that value I have and be willing to define and to solve those identified customer needs, problems. By so doing, I am succeeding in that very business of mine. There are so many unsolved problems in the world today, as a business man, I should be willing to identify them and that's where my business idea in trying to solve those problems of people, customers, the needy is very important. When you identify a problem in the business market world and proffer possible solutions to it, trust me you can never be poor because the viable idea is there, you have it and you made good use of it. You use what you have to get all you needed in life. That's the secret and there is no other magic behind it.

My ideas, are my money.
