HON. CHIKE ANYAONU RETURNS: A NEW CHAPTER OF PROGRESS, DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSFORMATION AT ASHDC.

The Anambra State Housing Development Corporation (ASHDC) proudly reintroduces Hon. Chike Anyaonu as its reappointed substantive Managing Director, following his successful first tenure of four years, from 2022 to March, 2026.

Having piloted the affairs of the Corporation with remarkable commitment and dedication, Hon. Anyaonu has been entrusted with another four-year tenure to consolidate the gains already recorded and take ASHDC to greater heights.

During his first tenure, the Corporation witnessed significant interventions and development across its estates and facilities. Among the key achievements recorded under his leadership were:

Reconstruction of the Ngozika Estate Phase II access road, addressing a major infrastructure challenge faced by residents.

Construction and improvement of Greenvalley Estate infrastructure, including the access road, gate and gatehouse, as well as some internal roads and drainage systems.

Development of Liberation Estate infrastructure, including the construction of the estate gate and gatehouse, the access road and some internal roads and drainages.

Renovation of the ASHDC Head Office Complex, giving the Corporation a more conducive and functional working environment.

Installation of solar-powered street lights in strategic locations to improve visibility, safety and security within the Corporation and the Corporation's estates.

Installation of CCTV cameras as part of efforts to strengthen security and protect lives and property.

Improvement in staff welfare and working conditions, alongside several other administrative and developmental initiatives.

These achievements, among numerous other interventions, reflect a leadership committed to infrastructure renewal, estate development, security, staff welfare and improved service delivery.

As Hon. Chike Anyaonu begins his second tenure, expectations are high for greater consolidation, innovation and sustainable development across ASHDC estates.

ASHDC MD Receives United Neighbourhood Residents Association, Pledges Support on Greenvalley Access Road

The Managing Director of the Anambra State Housing Development Corporation (ASHDC), Hon. Chike Anyaonu, today received members of the United Neighbourhood Residents Association, Awka, during a courtesy visit to congratulate him on his reappointment as the substantive Managing Director of the Corporation.

The delegation, led by the Secretary of the Association, Engr. Dr. Ifediorah Ezekiel, congratulated the Managing Director on his well-deserved reappointment and appealed to him to champion efforts towards addressing the deteriorated condition of the access road stretching from the Federal Road Safety junction to Greenvalley Estate.

Speaking on behalf of the residents, Engr. Dr. Ifediorah expressed the frustrations and hardships faced by thousands of residents as a result of the deplorable state of the road, particularly during the rainy season. He noted that the road has become almost impassable, disrupting business activities, hindering the movement of residents, and in many cases preventing children from attending school.

According to the Association, the road serves several residential estates, including Eagles Hills Estate, Golf Course Estate, Cornerstone Estate, Hilltop Estate, Dubai Estate, Beverly Hills Estate, Kamali Estate, Barons Court, Four Ways Court, Greenvalley Estate, and other adjoining communities.

The residents informed the Managing Director that they had previously engaged various stakeholders, including developers of some of the affected estates and the Anambra State Commissioner for Works. They appealed to Hon. Anyaonu to lend his voice and leadership in taking the matter to the State Government to facilitate the reconstruction of the road, stressing that its rehabilitation would not only ease the suffering of residents but also enhance the overall development and attractiveness of the State-owned Greenvalley Estate.

Responding, Hon. Chike Anyaonu thanked the Association for the visit and commended them for their unity and commitment to seeking a lasting solution through constructive engagement. He advised that the stakeholders should immediately convene a comprehensive meeting involving all concerned parties to develop a coordinated action plan with clearly defined responsibilities.

The Managing Director emphasized that after the stakeholders have agreed on a common course of action and commenced implementation of agreed responsibilities, a detailed report and recommendations should then be forwarded to the Governor for the necessary government intervention.

Hon. Anyaonu reaffirmed ASHDC's commitment to collaborating with stakeholders in advancing initiatives that will improve infrastructure, promote sustainable estate development, and enhance the welfare of residents across the State.

The Management Team of ASHDC led by the Ag Managing Director, Barr Nkolika Ebede embarked on a second quarter of the year inspection of the ongoing infrastructure projects at Greenvalley Estate, particularly Lots 1 and 3 being handled by Elson Construction Company Nigeria Limited, 5 and 6 concrete wall by Paul B Nig PLC, Lot 5 by B & O and Lot 2 by Anchor Nuel with the Consultant RB consult as part of its commitment to ensuring quality and timely delivery of projects within the Estate. The inspection provided an opportunity for Management to assess the level of work done on site, evaluate compliance with approved specifications and engage directly with the contractor on critical aspects of the construction.

During the supervision exercise, the Management team carefully reviewed the progress of the project, agreeing with the contractor on areas where satisfactory work had been achieved while also raising concerns and disagreements where necessary to ensure strict adherence to standards. The team emphasized that quality and durability remain non-negotiable priorities for ASHDC, stressing that every stage of the work must meet the required specifications to guarantee lasting and standard infrastructure for residents of Greenvalley Estate.

ASHDC MANAGEMENT TEAM INSPECTS ONGOING PROJECTS AT GREENVALLEY AND LIBERATION ESTATES

The Management Team of the (ASHDC), led by the Ag. Managing Director, Barr. Nkolika Ebede, embarked on an extensive supervision and inspection tour of the ongoing infrastructure projects at Greenvalley and Liberation Estates.

The inspection covered the ongoing perimeter fencing, drainage systems and internal road construction being handled by various contractors across different lots within the estate. The projects inspected include LOT 6 and 9 being executed by Paul B Nigeria PLC, LOT 1 and 3 handled by Elson Construction Company Nigeria Limited, as well as LOT 2 at Liberation Estate being executed by Steinbruch Construction Company LTD.

Speaking during the supervision exercise, the Ag. Managing Director commended the contractors and the project consultants, RB Consultants, for the noticeable progress recorded so far in the ex*****on of the projects. She expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on several sections and reiterated the Corporation’s commitment to delivering quality housing infrastructure that aligns with the vision of the leadership of Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo.

However, Barr. Ebede frowned at some poorly executed aspects of the projects observed during the inspection and directed the affected contractors to immediately effect necessary corrections and ensure strict adherence to approved specifications and standards. She stressed that ASHDC will not compromise on quality, durability and professionalism in the ex*****on of any project within its estates.

The Management Team further emphasized the importance of timely delivery, quality assurance and proper supervision as critical factors in achieving sustainable infrastructural development across ASHDC estates. The contractors were urged to maintain high standards and work collaboratively with the consultant and the Corporation to ensure successful completion of the projects for the benefit of residents and prospective homeowners.

The supervision exercise forms part of ASHDC’s continuous monitoring mechanism aimed at ensuring accountability, transparency and quality service delivery in all ongoing projects across the estates.

Today, the Acting Managing Director of the Anambra State Housing Development Corporation (ASHDC), Barr. Nkolika Ebede, warmly received members of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Anambra State Branch, as they concluded activities marking this year’s Valuation Day.

The delegation was led by the Branch Chairman, ESV Raji Adewale (FNIVS, RSV), alongside the Chairman of the Planning Committee, ESV Dr. Asoh Nkiruka (FNIVS, RSV), and other distinguished members of the profession. The visit highlighted the theme of this year’s celebration: “Valuation: The Bedrock of Economic Transparency and National Prosperity.” Discussions centered on key areas such as revenue generation and fiscal stability, financial inclusion and the information sector, governance and ethics, infrastructure and securitization, and global competitiveness, all emphasizing the critical role of valuation in national development.

In her response, Barr. Ebede, drawing from her background as a legal practitioner and administrator, spoke on “Unlocking Nigeria’s Wealth: How Valuation Builds Our Prosperity.” She emphasized that the true wealth of a nation lies not just in the availability of assets, but in the systems that ensure their proper assessment, management, and utilization.

She noted that effective valuation, when aligned with strong legal frameworks, promotes fairness, enhances transparency, and drives sustainable development. According to her, a synergy between law and valuation is essential for building trust in economic systems, attracting investment, and ensuring equitable growth.

Barr. Ebede commended the Institution for its continued commitment to professionalism and its vital contributions to economic stability and development. She encouraged sustained collaboration between professionals in the built environment and government agencies to further unlock the nation’s vast economic potential.

The visit reaffirmed the importance of valuation as a cornerstone for transparency, accountability, and national prosperity.

DEMOLITION AT NGOZIKA ESTATE PHASE II: ASHDC TAKES A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL ENCROACHMENT

The Anambra State Housing Development Corporation (ASHDC) today carried out a demolition exercise at Ngozika Estate Phase II, reinforcing its commitment to protecting the integrity of government layouts and ensuring proper urban planning.

Speaking to members of the press during the exercise, the Acting Managing Director of ASHDC, Barr. Nkolika Ebede, clarified that the affected structure was not only obstructing critical waterways but also constituted a clear case of land grabbing and encroachment. She emphasized that the individual behind the illegal construction is not a recognized allottee within the estate.

Barr. Ebede issued a strong warning to the public, urging individuals to desist from unlawful practices such as land grabbing, blocking of water channels and access roads, and any form of encroachment on government lands.

ASHDC remains resolute in its mandate to enforce compliance, safeguard infrastructure, and promote orderly development across all its estates.
