Yesterday at the Ibadan Real Estate Summit 2026, organized by Land Republic Land Republic , we witnessed something truly remarkable.

Hundreds of young people, real estate professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry enthusiasts came together to learn, connect, network, and share ideas that can shape the future of Ibadan’s real estate industry and the industry at large.

It was a room filled with people who are hungry for growth, better systems, better businesses, and a better understanding of where the industry is headed.

We had the privilege of learning from great minds and industry leaders, including Mr. Ayodeji of Yemsays and Dr. Emmanuel Osoteku DR. EMMANUEL OSOTEKU ||TheGLOBALMan who shared powerful insights on sales, marketing, systems, confidence, evolution, and the need to continuously adapt in a rapidly changing world.

One lesson that particularly stood out to me was the importance of systems. The right systems can save you time, energy, money, and unnecessary stress.

Another powerful reminder was that confidence is a currency, and in a world where everyone has access to information, sometimes the bold will go further than the brilliant who refuse to take action.

I was also privileged to serve as the Games Master for the summit, where I designed and built an interactive game experience specifically for the event. We had 20 players compete, engage, think, learn, and most importantly, have a great time while doing it.

What made this particularly exciting for me is that the game was built to be flexible and adaptable to different types of events, meaning it can be tailored to suit conferences, corporate events, team-building sessions, educational programs, and other experiences where engagement matters.

A big thank you to my boss and CEO, Dr. Victor Adesewa Victor Adesewa Adegbile for championing this initiative and creating a platform where young people and professionals can learn, connect, and grow.

And a massive shoutout to the entire Land Republic team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make yesterday a success.

“This property is overpriced.”

I hear this a lot, especially when people see the price of a property for the first time.

But before you conclude that a property is overpriced, it is important to understand what actually goes into the price.

A developer’s selling price is not determined by the cost of acquiring the land alone. There are documentation and regulatory costs, infrastructure and development costs, legal and survey fees, location advantage, marketing, staff and operational expenses, and of course, a reasonable profit margin.

For example, if a developer acquires land for ₦2M per plot, the final selling price has to account for much more than that initial acquisition cost.

This doesn’t mean every expensive property is automatically worth the price. It simply means price should be evaluated with context.

The real question should not always be, “Why is this property so expensive?”

It should be:

“What am I actually paying for, and does the value justify the price?”

The more you understand the psychology and economics behind property pricing, the better you become at making real estate decisions.

Don’t just buy property. Learn to evaluate it.

How many of the fears you carry are actually yours?

It’s a question I couldn’t stop thinking about after a few consultations this week.

I met people who genuinely wanted to invest in real estate, not people who had been scammed before, but people who had become afraid because of stories they had heard, videos they had watched, and opinions they had borrowed.

There’s nothing wrong with learning from other people’s experiences.

The problem begins when someone else’s experience becomes the lens through which you see every opportunity.

Yes, verify.

Yes, ask questions.

Yes, do your due diligence.

But don’t allow borrowed fears to stop you from making informed decisions that could change your future.

A client reached out to me months ago about a property selling for ₦2.5 million.

We had the conversation, answered every question, and she was satisfied.

Then she decided to wait.
