When he attempted to open a business bank account, he was required to provide a Tax Identification Number (TIN). However, upon visiting the office to obtain it, he discovered a huge roadblock—his business was no longer on the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) portal.

This occurred because his business, due to years of unfiled returns, had been marked inactive, and after a lengthy period of inactivity, the CAC had delisted it. Now, Mr. James faces not only the legal procedures and costs to reinstate his business but also the burden of catching up on 24 years’ worth of unpaid annual returns.
