CHIKE, man to man… if the allegations are true, this isn’t about fame, talent, or vibes. It’s about character.

There’s an unwritten code among men: you don’t destroy what another man spent years building. Not because you can’t, but because real men understand loyalty, respect, and boundaries.

Access is not permission. A married woman being available doesn’t make her yours to take. Discipline will always matter more than desire.

If it’s false, speak and defend your name. If it’s true, own it and apologize like a man. Careers recover, but damaged character takes years to rebuild.

BREAKING NEWS | Massive Turnout Rocks APC Primaries Across Otukpo/Ohimini as Hon. Lilian Elakeche Adoyi Gains Widespread Support

There was unprecedented voter turnout across the 23 wards of Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency during the APC primaries as party members trooped out in large numbers to participate in what many described as a defining political moment for the constituency.

From Adoka-Icho, Otobi, Entekpa, Ugboju, and Otukpo Town wards in Otukpo Local Government to Onyagede, Oglewu, Ochobo, Idekpa, Awume, and Agadagba wards in Ohimini, the atmosphere reflected a strong desire for change, inclusion, and a new direction in representation.

Political observers say the unusually high turnout was largely driven by growing dissatisfaction over what many grassroots members described as years of ineffective representation, lack of visible constituency impact, and the increasing demand for power balance within the federal constituency.
For many voters, the primaries became more than just a political exercise. It became an opportunity to send a message that the time had come for Ohimini to produce the next representative after years of dominance by the Otukpo axis.
Across several polling areas, chants of “It is Ohimini’s turn” echoed repeatedly as supporters of Hon. Lilian Elakeche Adoyi celebrated what they called a movement for equity, fairness, and effective representation.

Speaking during a vox pop session after casting his vote in Oglewu, an elderly party member said:

“We have supported others for many years. This time, we want someone who understands the people and will remember the grassroots after elections. Hon. Lilian has shown kindness and leadership even before politics.”

A youth leader in Otukpo Town also explained his decision:
“This is not about division. It is about performance and fairness. We cannot continue doing the same thing and expect different results. We need fresh energy and real representation.”

Another female APC member from Onyagede said:
“We voted for Lilian because she is accessible, compassionate, and she carries people along. Women and youths believe in her because she has helped people with her personal resources long before contesting.”

Party faithful across the constituency also pointed to what they described as weak constituency presence over the years, insisting that many federal projects approved for communities within Otukpo/Ohimini either remained abandoned, unexecuted, or never reached the people at all.

Many supporters argued that while other federal constituencies across Benue South continued to witness visible empowerment programmes, scholarship opportunities, infrastructure interventions, and grassroots engagement, Otukpo/Ohimini could not boldly point to commensurate representation despite nearly eight years in office.

The primaries also revealed a growing political sentiment that the continuous retention of major political offices within one axis of the constituency was no longer sustainable if unity and inclusion must be preserved.
Supporters of Hon. Lilian Elakeche Adoyi have now expressed hope that the APC leadership will respect the clear will and mood of party members as demonstrated during the primaries.

According to several stakeholders, respecting the outcome and aspirations of the grassroots would further strengthen the party ahead of the general elections and help consolidate support for all APC candidates from the governorship to the senate and ultimately the presidential election.

As celebrations continued across parts of Ohimini and Otukpo late into the evening, many supporters described the development as the beginning of a new political chapter for the constituency.

BENUE SOUTH SENATE | ALAPA MAKES A CASE FOR APC.

_Makurdi, Benue State _

Prominent APC stalwart and longtime progressive mobilizer, Chief Nelson Alapa, has successfully completed all processes required to contest for the Benue South Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), further strengthening his position as one of the most prepared aspirants ahead of the party primaries.

Unlike many aspirants still consulting and testing political waters, Chief Alapa has officially purchased his nomination forms, completed all documentation, paid all statutory dues attached to the process including obligations required for those who endorsed his forms and successfully submitted his forms to the party without controversy or delay.

Party insiders also confirmed that the APC chieftain passed through the screening process successfully and without any hitch, reinforcing confidence among his supporters that he remains fully qualified and politically ready for the task ahead.

For many stakeholders within Benue South, Chief Alapa’s smooth passage through the process is not surprising considering his longstanding commitment to the progressive movement dating back to the days of the ACN, the coalition movements that shaped the NNPP alliance structures, and eventually the merger that produced the APC and the victory of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Supporters of the senatorial hopeful insist that his journey has been defined by uncommon loyalty, sacrifice, and steadfastness even in moments when internal party betrayals worked against his political ambitions.

“He stayed when others left. He defended the party when many abandoned it. He invested his resources, his time, and his political strength to sustain the progressive family,” one party stakeholder stated during a recent consultation gathering.

Chief Alapa himself has repeatedly maintained that despite suffering internal disappointments on several occasions, he never walked away from the party he helped build from the foundation.

Political observers say his aspiration is gaining momentum particularly among supporters advocating equity and fairness within Benue South Senatorial District, especially for the Obi/Oju axis which many believe deserves an opportunity to produce the next senator.

Speaking with supporters after the completion of his screening exercise, Chief Alapa expressed confidence in the leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia and the APC in Benue State, noting that his continued belief in the party is driven by the administration’s vision to reposition Benue despite prevailing economic and security challenges.

“This is beyond ambition,” he reportedly said. “This is about loyalty, sacrifice, justice, and giving our people effective representation.”

Many of his supporters now argue that after years of unwavering commitment, it is time for the APC to reward dedication and consistency by giving Chief Nelson Alapa the full backing needed to emerge victorious.

According to them, “the party owes him that support.”

They insist that his grassroots reach, political experience, long-standing relationship with stakeholders across Zone C, and emotional connection to the Obi/Oju people place him in a strategic position to reclaim and strengthen the party’s influence in Benue South.

With consultations intensifying across the district and momentum building steadily around his candidacy, Chief Nelson Alapa’s camp believes the 2027 contest may finally become the defining moment where loyalty, sacrifice, and years of steadfast commitment receive their deserved reward at the ballot.

There was more warmth than politics in the atmosphere on Friday May 8, as APC foremost female aspirant for the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency seat, Hon. Lilian Adoyi Ofiebor, paid a familiar and respectful visit to the Deputy Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Chief Barr. Samuel Ode, ahead of the party primaries.

From the moment she arrived, the meeting carried the feeling of a daughter visiting a father whose doors have always remained open to guidance, encouragement and sincere conversation. The smiles were natural, the exchanges relaxed, and the environment reflected trust built beyond political seasons.

Hon. Lilian, accompanied by close associates and loyal supporters, was warmly received at the Deputy Governor’s residence where moments of laughter, greetings and heartfelt discussions filled the air before formal conversations even began.

Chief Barr. Sam Ode, while welcoming her, congratulated her on the remarkable acceptance her aspiration has continued to receive across Otukpo and Ohimini. He noted that her years of relationship with people through hospitality, humanitarian service and community engagement had already built a strong bond between her and the grassroots long before politics called.

According to him, the speed with which her aspiration has grown into a movement across communities is simply a reflection of the goodwill she has invested in people over the years.

In a calm fatherly tone, the Deputy Governor encouraged her to remain focused, humble and connected to the people, stressing that politics becomes easier when it is built on genuine relationships and service. He assured her that the leadership of the APC in Benue State under His Excellency Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia and the State Chairman, Hon. Chief Benjamin Omale, remains committed to ensuring a level playing ground and credible party primaries for all aspirants.

The conversation reportedly moved beyond politics into shared concerns about the future of the constituency, the importance of unity within the party and the growing desire among the people for inclusive and accessible representation.

Hon. Lilian Adoyi Ofiebor, in her response, appreciated the Deputy Governor for his fatherly support, wise counsel and constant encouragement. She reaffirmed her belief in unity, fairness and grassroots leadership, maintaining that her aspiration remains centered on service to the people and strengthening the voice of Otukpo/Ohimini at the national level.

As the meeting came to an end, photographs were taken amid cheerful moments and visible excitement from supporters who waited outside. For many present, it did not look like a typical political meeting. It felt more like a family conversation — one built on respect, trust and shared hope for the future.

And as Hon. Lilian stepped out to greet supporters gathered outside, the growing chants and admiration from party faithful further confirmed one thing: her movement is steadily finding a place in the hearts of the people.

AMB. LILIAN BEATS SUBMISSION DEADLINE | PREPARES FOR SCREENING.

Hon. Amb. Lilian Adoyi Elakeche has officially submitted her Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency, becoming the first aspirant in the entire Benue South Senatorial District to complete the submission process.

The submission, which took place on Wednesday, May 6, at the nation’s capital, marked another major step in her growing political journey and further strengthened the momentum surrounding her aspiration ahead of the party primaries.

Before returning the completed forms to Abuja, Hon. Lilian Adoyi Elakeche had earlier taken the documents home for endorsement, consultations, and prayers from key stakeholders and family members. In a symbolic moment that reflected culture, unity, and acceptance, the Och’Oglewu, who also doubles as the Ad’Ohimini, offered royal blessings and prayers for her success.

The emotional highlight of the moment came as her parents publicly prayed for her and blessed her ambition. The scene represented more than a family gathering. To many observers, it reflected the coming together of Otukpo and Ohimini in unity and shared purpose. With her mother from Otukpo and her father from Ohimini, supporters say her candidacy naturally embodies the bond and political harmony between the two local government areas.

Sources close to the process confirmed that the submission was smooth and hitch free, as all required documents and credentials were properly provided and verified without issues.

Political watchers across Benue South have continued to pay close attention to her growing popularity, especially among women, youths, and grassroots supporters who see her as a fresh voice with strong community ties and a message centered on inclusion, development, and effective representation.

Her emergence as the first aspirant from Benue South to successfully submit nomination forms has also been interpreted by many supporters as a sign of preparedness, seriousness, and confidence ahead of the primaries.

As political activities continue to build across Otukpo and Ohimini, the atmosphere surrounding Hon. Amb. Lilian Adoyi Elakeche’s aspiration is gradually transforming into a broader movement driven by unity, grassroots participation, and the hope for a new direction in representation.

Internal Tensions Threaten APC Cohesion Ahead of Zone C Primaries

Benue State Benue State Government Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia
The peace meeting between the governor of the Benue state and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, intended to unify the party ahead of upcoming elections, appears to have sparked an unexpected wave of internal propaganda.

Observers say the messaging is aimed at undermining the party from within, particularly in Zone C, where several House of Representatives aspirants for Otukpo/Ohimini have already obtained nomination forms. Earlier, the All Progressives Congress leadership had stressed that in cases where all aspirants could reach a consensus on a single candidate, primaries would be unnecessary. However, any objection from even a single aspirant would automatically trigger a primary election. While discussions between the SGF and the Benue State governor reportedly focused on Zones A and B, Zone C was not part of the talks, and no agreement has been reached among aspirants there. As a result, the party has indicated that primaries in Zone C are now inevitable.

Political commentator Dr. Emeka Okafor notes, “The real danger in Zone C is that the party’s internal conflicts are being amplified externally and this could jeopardise the victory of the party in the zone if the mistake of forcing an aspirant on the people is done against democratic design.

Messaging that contradicts the desires of party members risks alienating grassroots supporters and could have electoral consequences.” As the APC prepares for the primaries, party leadership faces the delicate task of balancing transparency, internal democracy, and cohesion, ensuring that aspirants and members feel heard while safeguarding the party’s broader electoral prospects.
