I CAN'T STUDY A COURSE THAT IS NOT MY DREAM COURSE

I understand the fact you choose because you feel is the best, or hightest paying job e.t.c

👉 have you forgotten that we are in Nigeria where First class student is a bike rider 😭😭😭
👉Have you forgotten that we are in Nigeria where our Leaders, don't care about we students 😭😭

👉Have you forgotten that we are in Nigeria where Corruption is 100% High 😭😭

My question for you is, "what's your sole aim of going to school" you might wanna lie to yourself, but we all know our major aim is to have a good life afterwards, live a comfortable life.

Any you will agree with me that, it doesn't matter what course you study, what matters is your brain and skill set. The world is upgrading. No one wants to know what you studied again, every employer wants to know, if you can do the job well irrepesctive of that you studied. The certificate is just a proof that you are a literate and nothing more.

After your 100L, you can still change your course, let alone sitting for amother jamb exam with a good score that could get you admitted to another course.

Why do you wanna give up?! 🔥

Make a good choice today. No course is Useless....

DEAR NIGERIAN STUDENTS

TITLE: NEVER

1. Never wait till your part 4 or 3 before going for your IT/internship, use every holiday to learn something new and interesting, be it in your field or outside of it.

2. Never graduate knowing only things pertaining to your degree, if you do, you will limit yourself. Expand your horizon, know something about everything there is to know.

3. Never read for grades only, grades won’t carry you beyond school. Read for knowledge, read to be empowered.

4. Never separate yourself from others, Make friends with all sort of people, Regardless of faith, creed, colour and knowledge.

5. Never allow a lecturer limit you or your ability. He is where he probably wants to be..you are not yet where you want to be..don’t allow him limit you by his words, grades or outburst.

6. NEVER look down on grades, read to have the A’s, do your best to be among the best. If C is what you can achieve with all your strength achieve it.

7. Never substitute religious activity for real relationship with God, participate in fellowship activities but never let it replace your personal interaction with God. Don’t be a zealot or an extremist.

8. Never look down on anyone, the poor guy then could be a millionaire after school, the guy who struggled to make third class might come back powerful and rich. No other person has been more recognised in my street (internationally and within Nigeria) than my good friend Olalekan despite graduating weak 2:2…No be by what you graduate with o.

9. Never take your CGPA or graduating class as the final say on your life. Why should a cream-coloured A4 paper, signed by a Professor, produced by NSMC be a final authority on your life?

10. Never think people are going to treat you specially just because you are graduating with a good grade. The world out there is full of people MORE qualified than you. Work out your “salvation”. What saves you is what you can do.

11. Never depart from God or godly principle, your life depends on him. In dominus El frustra…Latin..loosely meaning (Without God we labour in vain). You need God on your best days and on your worst days. Never look down on the power of favour or grace

12. Never never never give up,tell yourself we grow vigorously not banish here.

In this game of academic excellence, it is stupidity to be cocky or overconfident — your grades will humble you."

Top students know this.

You see, even students that you think have got this academic excellence "stuff" all figured out are almost always humbly wary, prudent, and extremely careful of the minutest detail.

They honestly assess their abilities, the grounds yet to be covered and "academic" stones yet to be turned.

Now, based on the result of that honest self-appraisal, they make and take decisions, sometimes painful— for me, it was taking a necessary break from this FB space.

If there was anything I had learned from studying myself this break, it was this:

Academic success revolves around its principles; it is somewhat independent of you.

Neglecting these principles will be at your peril — isn't that the case of a "Samson" without the "Spirit"?

SEVEN{7} FUNDAMENTAL SECRET OF LEARNING (useful)

Learning new things is a huge part of life -- we should always be striving to learn and grow. But it takes time, and time is precious. So how can you make the most of your time by speeding up the learning process? Thanks to neuroscience, we now have a better understanding of how we learn and the most effective ways our brains process and hold on to information.

If you want to get a jump start on expanding your knowledge, here are 7 Secret ways you can employ to start learning faster today.

1. Take notes with pen and paper.

Though it might seem that typing your notes on a laptop during a conference or lecture will be more thorough, thus helping you learn faster, it doesn’t work that way. To speed up your learning, skip the laptop and take notes the old-fashioned way, with pen and paper. Research has shown that those who type in their lecture notes process and retain the information at a lower level. Those who take notes by hand actually learn more.

While taking notes by hand is slower and more cumbersome than typing, the act of writing out the information fosters comprehension and retention. Reframing the information in your own words helps you retain the information longer, meaning you’ll have better recall and will perform better on tests.

2. Distributed practice.
This method involves distributing multiple practices (or study sessions) on a topic over a period of time. Using short, spaced-out study sessions will encourage meaningful learning, as opposed to long “cram sessions,” which promote rote learning. The first step is to take thorough notes while the topic is being discussed. Afterward, take a few minutes to look over your notes, making any additions or changes to add detail and ensure accuracy.

Do this quickly, once or twice following each class or period of instruction. Over time, you can begin to spread the sessions out, starting with once per day and eventually moving to three times a week. S**c

HOW TO TAKE NOTE IN CLASS

A lot of students have the notion that if they do not get everything the teacher says- word for word then they have failed in the note taking process but this is however counterintuitive and not true.

It is necessary to be in class and to listen attentively but listening and writing are two different activities. The human brain prefers to do just one activity at a time yet we can't just listen without taking notes can we? Most times in the process of writing we just hear; we don't listen, so we find that we have failed entirely if we eventually do not read the notes.

A student should listen as much as possible and note only the key points. Everyone knows that voluminous notes are depressing to read. when your notes are filled with the details of examples they become too bulky to read.

It is also necessary for students to learn how to paraphrase. You do not have to quote the teacher word for word as sentences like "I walked, I ran, I jumped" could simply and speedily be written as "I exercised" depending on the context. Paraphrasing also helps you remember better as your mind has been made to interpret the new information. So it is best to keep your note simple, short and neat. happy note taking!

some students have been inculcated with the bogus idea that "your CGPA cannot rise in your penultimate and final year in school".

This above I call "bogus idea" has marred some students courage towards achieving their aspired CGPA.
Your CGPA can increase at any level of yours but, there is little exemption to this ___ in the case of a student (Olamide) who had a CGPA of 4.05 at the end of his 200L is vulnerable to experience a proliferation in his CGPA if he begins to write 5.0 in the remaining semesters more than a student (Chioma) who had a CGPA of 4.80 at the end of her 200L __{The former(Olamide) has the tendency to write 4.52 while the latter(Chioma) can write maximum of 4.90},,,, as their FINAL GPA.

Imagine the above rough calculation where the former had 0.47 increase while the latter only had 0.10 increase.

My point is, your CGPA can increase at any level. I don't believe in the idea that 300L and 400L is to maintain your CGPA.
You can increase your CGPA at any level regardless of your course of study. Don't let anybody put you under irrelevant pressure.

Lest i forget, Don't get carried away by historical myth from your seniors that; nobody has ever written or achieved what you planned to achieve (reason why you should take who can motivate you as a mentor in your school). Remember, life is embodied with records ___ we set records and break records_.

You can DO IT

5. How do I maintain a good GPA?

6. Is it true that 100L and 200L GPA is usually low?

Identify them below and boost your performance as soon as possible.

GPA KILLING MISTAKES YOU MUST AVOID.

1. FAILURE TO OVERCOME PROCRASTINATION

The 14 letters above is the grave where opportunities are buried. Dont push things to the future if you can address them in the present. Killing time is not murder, it is su***de. Dont wait for the exams to be close before you begin adequate preparations.

One reason you should stop swimming in the ocean of procrastination is that you cannot predict the future. Today is the only asset you are sure of. Say no to procrastination.

2. COMPARISON

Comparison is not a proof of anything. Life is not to compete but to complete. You say; Mr A uses this approach and it works for him, so let me do the same, or I want to be like peter. Now, who is Peter? I don’t know but certainly not you. Just be unique; look for what produces the best result for you and stick to it.

3. PRIDE

Nothing kills your GP faster than when you begin to form Mr. Pompous. when you are proud, you become too heavy for people to carry. Humble yourself to learn what you don’t know. Ask questions, seek help even from your juniors.

4. YOU ARE TOO SHY

You are too shy to relate with people. Have you forgotten that according to research, you

remember a lot when you teach others or engage in group discussions? if your GP is affected because you are shy, it is time to work on yourself.

5. BAD COMPANY

Are your close friends those who are not serious academically? then stop complaining about your poor performance. Like I always say, your friends are the picture of your future. Review your association immediately.

6. YOU SLEEP TOO MUCH

You can’t be sleeping too much and expect your GPA to be awake. Too much Sleep hasn’t helped you o. You need to check and balance that thing that makes your eyes always close.

7. YOU BLAMES OTHERS

You always have reasons to blame your lecturers or friends for your poor performance. In the beginning, it was not so. The earlier you start taking full responsibility for your life, the better.

8. YOUR LAST SUCCESS

You relaxed because you did very well the other time. Have you forgotten so soon that your last achievement is your greatest enemy? it doesn’t make sense, but it does. Look back occasionally but forward continuously.

9. YOU SETTLED FOR LESS

You decided to take anything that comes your way. Have you forgotten that any GP can be 0.5? go for what you want. Don’t let anyone tell you to settle for less. Your GPA trend continues until you decide to aim for the very best.

10. INCONSISTENCY

It is better to die standing than to continuously live on your knees. Don’t have a scattered academic or reading life. Be consistent in your dealings.

11. SKIPPING CLASSES

Some of the things your lecturer says in class are the prophecies of your exam questions. You skipped the class, there you missed the rhema. Academic Rhema is the key to your success.

12. YOU DIDN’T COMPLETE THE SCHEME

The part you left out may likely come out on the exam. Try to cover as much as possible before the exam. The issue of not completing the scheme can be overcome by starting early and being consistent.

13. ADDICTION TO TECHNOLOGY

Your addiction to Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, games, films, phones, and so on, are not helping matters as well. Try to put some limits on your social life.

14. NOT IMPROVING YOURSELF

Self-improvement is the beginning of self-discovery. Don’t use last session information to solve this semester’s reality. Learn how to answer exam questions. 15a in school politics/unionism you are there without thinking of what brought you to campus it will also make your GPA drop

15. DISTRACTIONS FROM OPPOSITE S*X

You should be able to explain this one better. You are permitted to allow distractions from the opposite see b. That is if it doesn’t affect your GPA. Else, run very fast. Tell yourself the truth in this aspect. I just want to make common sense.
