One major ingredient to build these relationships is by listening actively to people around us. In today's high-tech, high-speed and high-stress world, people seem to devote less and less time to really listening to one another.

*Here are 4 tips to help you become a great listener to serve your clients better*

📍*Maintain eye contact and be attentive*

Eye contact is a considered the basic ingredient of effective communication. Screen out distractions such as background activity and noise. Try not to be distracted by your thoughts.

📍 **Don't interrupt*

When listening to someone talk about a problem, refrain from suggesting solutions. You may also ask the speaker if they would like to hear your suggestions.

📍 **Ask clarifying questions when the client pauses*

Ask questions to clarify any point that is unclear during the course of your conversation.
