Stop pointing fingers and placing blame on others. Your life can only change to the degree that you accept responsibility for it. (Dr Steve Maraboli).
The first sign of a loser are excuses. Excuses are the only constant thing in their life. You can even predict that they will blame someone or something for not being where they are in life. These people usually say words like "l will start on monday, it's not my fault, am too tired, i can't afford, i don't have time or it's the economy etc".
Understand that the more you blame someone for your situation, the less power you have to control that situation. The first step to taking responsibility is to quit blaming others. Growth happens when you stop blaming people and situations and start correcting yourself and when you own your mistakes and use your power to change your own behavior.
This is exactly what happened to William James. James was an American philosopher, historian, and psychologist, and the first educator to offer a Psychology Course in the United States. James is considered to be a leading Thinker of the late 19th century, one of the most influential philosophers of the United States, and the "Father of American psychology".
At the age of 30, William James's life was failing apart as he was unemployed and his father was ashamed of him. He therefore started considering taking his life until one night , he read the lectures of the philosopher Charles Pierce and decided to conduct an experiment for 1 year . He decided to take full responsibility of his life for 12 months and decided that if his life still remained the same, then he would to take his life. He called the start of his experiment his rebirth .
William's decision to take responsibility for his problems allowed him to direct his energy to improving his life which in turn improved the lives of millions of people and he became the most influential psychologist of all time.
When you take responsibility for your problems, you take responsibility for how your problems make you feel. Like Jim Rohn said "The same wind blows on us all; the winds of disaster, opportunity and change. Therefore, it is not the blowing of the wind, but the setting of the sails that will determine our direction in life". We can be looking at the same thing but seeing different things and therefore react differently. Simon Sinek was right when he said "There are two ways to see the world. Some people will see the thing they want to see while some people will see the thing that prevents them from getting the thing they want".
Take charge of your life. Remember you are enough.
