RE: STATEMENT REGARDING UNFOUNDED BLACKMAIL ATTEMPT BY A FORMER EMPLOYEE BRENDA UNACHUKWU
Fulham wishes to address recent developments in the ongoing investigation into the actions of our former employee, Brenda Unachukwu, after joining the company in 2015, investigations revealed that she registered series of companies which include Newdawn Konsul Ltd Registerd 21st of May 2012. Realeza International Limited Registered 3rd November 2016 and Shaveh Homes Limited Registered 28th of June 2018 these companies are wholly owned by her with her mother as a director, doing the same business as her employer, which is against the ethics of employee and employer relationship, while she was still in our employment.
We carried out an audit and discovered that she has smartly diverted funds paid by Fulham Properties Tenants into her own personal company accounts which is against the company policies and guidelines which she is aware of.
At the point of discovery, we called for a reconciliation of accounts, but she never showed up. During this same time she went to two of our estates to cart away furniture's belonging to two flats in two of our estates in Ikoyi. She was caught by the security through our CCTV, she returned some of the items however they were not the same as the ones she took, and the others were already in terrible conditions. The matter was reported to Nigerian police force Ikoyi Division who investigated and then charged the case to court.
We are aware of a recent attempt by Brenda to disseminate a recording with the intention of blackmailing and diverting public attention from a matter already in court by mentioning our Chairman Chief Dr.Chidi Anyaegbu FCILC,MFR,CON(Chisco) who has an impeccable reputation with over 47 years of excellent service, While we understand that emotions can run high in such situations, we want to emphasize that the allegations against our Chairman are false and the facts remain clear and unaltered that she diverted Fulham rental Funds into her personal company accounts.
After a thorough audit, it was revealed that Brenda Unachukwu had engaged in unauthorized financial activities that resulted in the misappropriation of company funds amounting to over 140 Million Naira, These findings were promptly reported to the appropriate law enforcement agencies, who are diligently pursuing the matter to ensure justice is served.
We firmly believe in the due process of law and respect the ongoing court process. We discourage any attempts to mislead or manipulate the situation by attempting to discredit the evidence against Brenda through frivolous recordings.
We would also like to state categorically that she has completely misrepresented issues by using emotion to divert the truth about a crime she committed and started calling names of individuals who are not the company, it is important that we at this time make it known that her only aim is to discredit the process of the case
Fulham will continue to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities and trust in the legal system to uncover the truth. We urge the public and the media to exercise patience and allow the legal process to take its course. We have full faith that justice will prevail, and the appropriate actions will be taken to address this matter.
