I think my favourite part of Salah while growing up was going round to neighbours’ houses to share food 😍
Naaaa…
It wasn’t really because of the joy of sharing o 👀
Can you guess why?
Yes 😅
You got it.
Na Owo Odun matter dey push me then.
Na to dey fight to be the one to go…
or at least be among the people going to the most houses 😄
And lowkey ehn…
I used to get annoyed with neighbours that would take too long to pour food, wash plate and return the Ajase 😭
Because why is the operation delaying like this?
My mum even had different Ajase dishes depending on the size of the family we were going to
Very organized system. 👍
Another part I enjoyed?
Watching the ram few days before Salah.
I didn’t really like going too close to it like that
But I enjoyed sitting inside the parlour near the dining area, looking at it through the window.
Especially when we started keeping it in the balcony.
Just observing it quietly.
🥰 Eid memories sha…
New clothes.
Mint money gifts.
Visitors everywhere.
The smell of food.
Happy atmosphere.
And meat too
Hmmm…
Okay maybe not “plenty meat” like that
My mama be “elero”
Meat no dey stay our house for long. 😭
Alhamdulillah for beautiful memories ❤️
Now... Watching history repeat itself with my kids.
Awwnnn
Me, I no get Ajase dish Sha 😄
