THE IMPORTANCE OF A LEGEND
It is mandatory for every layout plan to include a legend. In layout design, the legend explains:
• Utilities and subdivision details
• Land use allocation
• Symbols and notations
• Abbreviations
• Road classifications
• Phasing (where applicable)
Without a legend, a layout becomes unclear to whoever is reviewing or interpreting it.
