THE NUCLEAR BOMB,THE LAST LINE OF DEFENCE

The size of the Atomic bomb used in Hiroshima and Nagasaki,Japan during the WWII in 1945, was 15 Kilotons, TNT, while the size of the Hydrogen Bomb or H-Bomb, as it is popularly called, tested by the North Koreans in September 3, 2017 was over 100 Kilotons, TNT.
By implication, this is a six and half times larger than the Nuclear weapon used in those two(2) Japanese Cities during the WWII.

Under nuclear weapons classification both bombs fall under the Tactical nuclear weapons since, it's yields is not more than 100 Kilotons but nuclear bombs with yields above 100 Kilotons,TNT, are classified as a strategic nuclear weapon.

On a whole, the distinction between a tactical nuclear weapon, and a strategic nuclear weapon, is in the number of variable yields because, tactical nuclear weapons depending on how numerously deployed, and the capacity of the vehicle and batteries used to deploy them towards their target could still be considered as strategic nuclear weapons due to their effective, destructive power such as the high velocity heat and shock waves, coupled with its very high radiative power.

A tactical nuclear weapon deployed on a shot range ICBM or a long range ICBM could still serve it's purpose depending on the objective of its deployment.

CORRUPTION IN THE POLITY (A RECAP)

Corruption in the polity has no doubt assumed a gargantuan proportion and this ignoble act has been fuelled and further exacerbated by non other than the objectionable activities of the voracious political class,those who conspire to fleece the common patrimony under the pretext of representing the critical mass of the people in the name of politics.

Just pondering in bewilderment on how and why the nation had neglected the path of discipline and decency and instead degenerated to this near irredeemable height of recovery and resuscitation . Numerous times the psyche of the citizens had been bartered to the point of loosing equanimity and self worth thus, rendering them subservient and complaisant that they could no longer oppose nor question the excesses and actus reus committed by the political class and public officials, etc.

For how long shall the masses rigmarole in this state of hopelessness ? Since it seems almost all attempts to ruminate and stand up to the political class has been rendered futile by those very political class who would stop at nothing in their respective bids to ply their stocks in trade and always cahoot to sow the seed of " divide and rule" amongst the people so as to continually emasculate and pauperize them to the point of no return.

Must we continue plying and towing the path of servitude just because of the sinister path the political class has foisted on us? For how long shall we remain like this? Or have the people deliberately chosen to remain "down cast" as a choice? Can one say that, they were able to be subjected to this lowest ebb because they (the people) are disunited, which is the resultant effect of the 'political class ' stocks in trade to keep them perpetually divided by sowing seed of divide and rule amongst them in other to avoid any form of opposition emanating from them even with their high level of exposure and education.

The most disturbing thing here is that even amongst the people, you have those whom are well read and highly educated. Those whom are highly skilled and intelligent. Thus, those amongst the critical mass cuts across all length and breath of virtually every discipline and field of study. In fact, in terms of the knowledge, brilliance, refinement and savvy non amongst the citizens are in short supply but yet even with all these highfalutin attributes and Wherewithal they,(the elites) are still been tossed up and down like packs of cards by the politicians and political class who are less skilled and qualified.

Truth be told, that there is something fundamentally wrong with a system where those who are more qualified in every respect are ruled and governed by those whom are less qualified. This comparison is tantamount to a society where a blind man leads and governs the full sighted. It is this state of affairs that our country Nigeria has condescended to.

PHILOSOPHISING

Social unrest & crisis everywhere! No region is spared, as every continent has its own fair share of the problems bedevilling the world.
The world is in indeed a troubled atmosphere.
Truly,the world & it's worldliness is but everything vainglorious & a vanity fair.

We are all transiting with no guarantee of permanency to be extracted from the very life we live and lead because the life we live, is a borrowed one, a debt which must be repaid someday.

Today a child is born,that child grows from childhood to become an adult and may eventually grow old or not but certainly after working and struggling hard to earn a place and stay relevant eventually losses that life by answering when death beckons with neither a hold on the very life he or she had toiled so hard to protect and preserve.

Are the struggles and all competitions over the need to make an impact and leave legacies amongst humans which are geared towards self fulfilment and actualisation worth all the troubles?

Why outworking ourselves to stupor over a life that offers no guarantee but instead places enormous burden on us by deeply weighing us down and sniffing out our very existence ?

Why worry so much to live healthily, when as humans, we are very much aware that we are bound to loose that life anytime?

A man works so hard, earns lots of money and eventually becomes rich but in no distant time lives behind all that money and an honest inheritance to his family members when death beckons.

Life is no doubt such a vicious cycle, a pattern of repetitions leaving in its wakes, turmoil and frustrations. We are neither sure of our destination after death nor departing with all our worldly and material acquisitions.

What a Vanity fair!

The most frustrating of all is that, we are not even sure of the fate befalling us after death.

While some believe in life after death,some do not and others are indifferent.
As humans, we are indeed in for a deep dilemma.

The obvious truth... One major function of IPOB is to gauge Igbo unity and solidarity in other to speak with one solid voice. This can mostly be harnessed through our total commitment in participating in the electoral process.Igbos must not make the mistakes of the past again as such consequences would be dire,such as we are experiencing "today." No Igbo sociopolitical organization or groupings has been more strategic than IPOB and if Ndi Igbo must reinvent the wheels, the Strategic brinkmanship provided by IPOB under the sagacious and courageous leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must be properly tapped into.The writer of this essay is visionary to have observed what some of us had noticed earlier. Total mobilization of Ndi Igbo for Electoral participation is a sure key than any other to Igbo sociopolitical emancipation no doubt.
