What I wish I told my 25-year-old self about land

If I could go back and have a conversation with my 25-year-old self about money, this is exactly what I would say:

"Esther, don't just work hard to earn money. Learn how to make your money work for you."

There are three things I wish I understood earlier:

1. Land is not just property. It is an asset.

I used to think investing was only for people who already had a lot of money.

But wealth is built by starting early and allowing time to work in your favour.

2. Start small.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin.

Many people wait until they can afford a big investment, but small beginnings can grow into something significant.

3. Location matters more than size.

A smaller piece of land in the right location can become more valuable than a bigger piece in the wrong location.

The lesson?

Don't wait until you "have enough."

Learn.
Research.
Start.
Build.

The decisions you make today can become the foundation your future self and future generation will stand on.

An oil palm plantation is different.

Once the trees reach maturity, they can continue producing harvests for decades with proper management. That's why many long-term investors see oil palm not just as land, but as an asset with the potential to generate value over an extended period.

Think about it.

Instead of relying on one source of income, what if you owned something that kept working while you focused on your career, business, family, or even enjoyed retirement?

❓How do I choose the right location?
Look beyond today's price. Consider infrastructure, accessibility, population growth, commercial activities, and future development plans.

❓Is land still a good investment today?
Land can be a strong long-term investment, especially when you buy in locations with genuine growth potential and clear ownership.
