LET’S BUST THIS LAND MYTH TODAY! 👇

Many first-time buyers fall for this one...

MYTH:
“If the survey plan is registered and stamped by the Surveyor-General, it means I own the land legally.”

FACT:
A survey plan does NOT give you ownership.

All a survey plan does is show you WHERE the land is - its size, boundaries, and coordinates on the map.

It does NOT show you WHO legally owns it.

To prove legal ownership in Nigeria, you need valid TITLE documents like:
✔️ Certificate of Occupancy (C of O)
✔️ Governor’s Consent
✔️ Deed of Assignment properly registered at the Land Registry
✔️ Gazetted Excision (for excised lands)

A survey plan without a good title is just a drawing.

**WHY THIS MATTERS TO YOU:**
If you buy land with ONLY a survey plan, you risk:
❌ Buying government committed / acquired land
❌ Buying land that already belongs to someone else at the registry
❌ Losing your entire investment with no legal backing

Don’t pay for a map when you should be paying for OWNERSHIP.

Before you pay for ANY land, always do a proper search at the State Land Registry.
