*SOMEONE ASKED ME THIS QUESTIONS TODAY*
"I heard about two things:"
1. "Govt acquisition" land
2. "Committed" land
What is the difference between the two?
*HERE IS MY RESPONSE TO HIM, GO THROUGH IT, IT WILL SO YOU A LOT OF GOOD.*
ANSWER;
All landed property in any state are under government acquisition by virtue of law.
There are two types of Government acquisition;
1) Acquisition but not committed
2) Acquisition and committed.
Government release some land that are not committed and gave them excision, and they can process to c of o.etc.
landed property under acquisition but not committed can be bought and used because it is ratifiable.
2) Committed land in its case is the landed property that Govt set aside for its use. For example, a land that has been marked out for airport, hospital, school etc are committed land . It may still be seen as bush and some family will still be telling you it is their land. If you fall victim you are OYO.
There is exemption to committed land as anything is possible under heaven. If you see a committed land and you want to use it may be for a company etc. You can approach government through Surveyor General, Permanent Secretary to seek for govt direct allocation. If you are given, then you can go ahead.
Let me leave you with this, before you buy into any property, ask your surveyor to do a land information for you, pay him so as to get genuine result that is verifiable. Also, do what I call native intelligent etc. I will find time to talk more on this.
I hope this help.
