# What is the proper way for couples to write their Names on a property document?

When a couple jointly buy a property, it is pertinent for them to properly state their names on the Title documents.

If, for example the husband name is Mr. Muhammed Chigozie Adekambi, and the wife is Mrs. Mary Ezinne Adekambi, it is not right for them to state their names as: Mr.& Mrs. ADEKAMBI or Mr. & Mrs. Muhammed Chigozie Adekambi.

The right way to write the names of the couple is Mr. Muhammed Chigozie ADEKAMBI & Mrs. Mary Ezinne ADEKAMBI because any other woman can be "Mrs. ADEKAMBI"

A Deed of Rectification is the legal instrument that is used to correct errors in the name(s) of the parties, or other errors on a property transfer document, which can be used to correct the name spelling in cases like this.
