Some causes of building collapse

* No use of proper foundation eg, pile foundation for high rise buildings

* Poor structural components

* Using heavy materials for high rise buildings. Most times, fiber, wood, glass are used in high rise buildings.

* Greed: one person might want to do the work of an architect, builder, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, structural engineer.

* Compromise: a client compelling and sometimes issuing orders to the professionals who in turn bow to pressure all in the name of 'country hard'. Some will also want to erect a high-rise building in a land with less load bearing capacity. Like buying a swamp and filling it up, then building without correct structural materials.

*The chief of them all is QUACKERY. You see people that do not go through the process of becoming a professional taking up a project all in the name of 'I'M AN ENGINEER ' all because he can lay block. At the end of the day, people pay with their precious lives.
