Having an ‘employee mindset’ is one of the easiest way to kill procrastination in your business and life!

I know you are the CEO of that 1 man show or small biz, with no one to query you if you procrastinate and not deliver on time - which is hurting your business.

Ask yourself - what if you were working in Apple or Microsoft (on a multiple 6 fig $$$ salary with all the perks) with a boss standing by for you to complete this task?

What if you had a meeting with your boss tomorrow morning by 8am to present the deliverables?

Will you still procrastinate on this task?
Will you over think it?
Will you aim for perfection or get that s**t done?

Remember ‘done is better than perfect’.... perfection is a subjective illusion that does not exist.

I’m not encouraging delivering mediocre work. With an ‘employee mindset’, you will also expect to be fired or queried if you deliver mediocre work.

Consistent average is better than occasional excellence and inaction powered by overthinking.

You must realize that perfection is a journey rather than a destination.

‘You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great!’.

Our circle of friends sometimes determines how fast and far we progress in life.

It is important to sit with people that will help us grow in all areas of life.

It is also important to avoid unnecessary competitions with our circle of friends.

Reno wrote and I quote

1 No plan – haphazard activities
2 Too busy doing business to consider how to develop business
3 Jumping from one failed idea to another without stopping to think
4 Your marketing plan on a ‘post it’ note or in your head
5 Untargeted attempts to generate sales
6 Not really knowing what works and what doesn’t to make informed decisions
7 Trying to do too much too quickly and making mistakes
8 Wasting money, time and effort repeating what doesn’t work
9 Poor decisions about what to invest in – believing the sales person
10 Letting fear paralyse the taking of positive action
11 Mixed messages with no coherent theme
12 Over complicating marketing activities and messages
13 Working very hard but not getting results that match the effort
14 Making excuses – I haven’t got time to market my business
15 Thinking that marketing is complicated – and avoiding doing it
16 Relying on only one or two methods of generating business
17 Suffering from feast and famine revenue cycles
18 Keeping poor records of important prospects and customers
19 Not really being able to explain why someone should buy from you

A GOAL IS A VISION OR EXPECTATION WITH A DEADLINE

Something like this..

I want to make 5 sales this week

I want to make 300k by the end of this month

Your goal will help you measure your actions

That's called Planning

How do I go about it?

What do I do?

Etc.

This should lead you to scheduling

Then theming etc. (I'll explain this another time)

The idea is

If you don't have a specific realistic goal. Then you are aiming at nothing

AND IF YOU AIM AT NOTHING, YOU WILL DEFINITELY HIT YOUR TARGET - NOTHING

Let's face it, New year resolutions don't work but that is not the focus of this interesting post.

The main point is something far more dangerous: something that will consistently endanger and even destroy every single opportunity you get if you don't identify it and deal with it.

I'm talking of nothing other than "excitement".

When opportunities or possibilities show up, naturally you get excited- adrenalin fills your veins and you catch fire on the inside; you want to grab it and that is the problem.

The same fire of excitement is what will burn out your energy before you can achieve what you were so eager to achieve.

That is why new year resolutions don't work: they are made in the heat of excitement.

It is also why most people won't make money: money and heat don't mix (why else do you think banks are never hot?)

The best thing to do instead of going all loco with excitement is to enter a cold, calculative state of mind.

That is the only way to make the best of opportunities and move through life with speed.

Few people are able to do this because it takes decades to master except you have a mentor who can hold you by the hand (or neck if necessary).

That is one of the things offered by CTBC.

MOST OF OUR EXPENSES ARE NOT EMERGENCIES

●Christmas is not an emergency
●House Rent is not an emergency
●School Fees is not an emergency
●Child Delivery is not an emergency
●Vacation is not an emergency
●Investment is not an emergency

A school of thought holds the view that about 80% of man's expenses are not emergencies.

Why then do people behave as though it is and when they ask for help from people and they receive a NO, they make enemy of people? That's a wrong act!

This is why the need for Financial Intelligence and Financial Planning are at the core of Finanical Independence.
"God forbid" is not a strategy neither is "It is not my portion" a strategy.

This is a call to persons who are scampering for resources to celebrate Christmas that will land you in debt to please, have a rethink.

Even those things classified as emergencies, they cease to become if an Emergency Fund is created to cater for them as part of Finanical Planning. E.g. Insurance of various kinds.

These are not times to compare oneself with another and it is never a strategy as well.

Like never before people need to activate Emotional Equilibrium in spending at all times. Live and spend your size per time.

If you think January is a long month, it is because you went on spending spree beyond your capacity to cater for January or first quarter of the new year.

Be guided in your business and spending decisions.
