Very very important ooh.. pls take note of this.
If youβre aiming for a vaginal delivery, start preparing early.
Here are things to do to increase your chances of a successful vaginal delivery:
1. Attend Regular Antenatal Care (ANC):
Early and consistent prenatal visits help your doctor monitor your pregnancy, detect issues early, and guide you toward a safe vaginal delivery.
2. Maintain a Healthy Diet:
Eating balanced meals rich in iron, calcium, protein, and fiber supports proper fetal growth and reduces pregnancy complications that may lead to C-section.
3. Exercise Regularly:
Prenatal exercises like walking, pelvic tilts, and squats strengthen your pelvic muscles, improve stamina, and support optimal baby positioning.
4. Stay Hydrated and Rest Well:
Proper hydration and quality sleep help regulate hormones and reduce stress, both important for a smoother labor.
5. Practice Good Posture and Pelvic Positions:
Sitting upright and practicing pelvic exercises (like sitting on a birthing ball) can help your baby descend and stay in a head-down position.
6. Educate Yourself About Labor:
Join childbirth classes or read about labor stages, breathing techniques, and coping strategies to reduce fear and boost confidence.
7. Maintain a Healthy Weight: Gaining too much weight increases the risk of complications.
8. Avoid Unnecessary Inductions:
Unless medically required, early inductions can increase the risk of ending in a C-section. Let labor start naturally if possible.
Now, after doing all these, if your doctor says a C-section is necessary, donβt ignore it but do seek a second opinion to confirm the reason is medical and not based on convenience. Your safety and your babyβs wellbeing should always come first.
