Dutch doors work different. Something you might find out when you try to lock your door or you are locked out. The newer doors required you to lift the handle before you can lock the door. But all doors have one common feature - they are self locking. It might be useful to leave an extra key with a neighbour or at work to avoid a costly locksmith to let you back in your home.

Are you ready for an Orange party? Tonight is Kings Night - many towns will be decked out in orange, a stage in a main square and pubs and cafe's overflowing. This party is in the run-up to Kings Day (Konings dag, April 27th) when the birthday of H.M. the King of the Netherlands is celebrated. It is a national holiday with every village, town and city organising various activities. And maybe you will meet Tracy's dogs in orange costumes 🐕 taking part in the orange mania.
