The right outfit can change everything.

That's why we're excited to announce our collaboration with Dress for Success Utrecht and Use/Space. Since last week, there's an information point and clothing rack in the hall of Central Park, so the people who work here can get to know this incredible organisation.

Dress for Success dresses people who are on their way to a job, internship or volunteer work, from head to toe. Free of charge. They support people who don’t have the means to buy new clothes themselves, but who do want to show up to their job interview or first day of work feeling confident and well dressed.

But it's not really about the clothes: It's about what happens when someone stands in front of the mirror and sees themselves again. The confidence that grows in just one hour. The Syrian doctor who wants to start over here. The student heading into their first internship. People who, after a difficult period, are carefully taking their next step. They walk out the door with a full bag. And just a little more belief in themselves.

Want to help? Dress for Success always needs donations, especially jackets, shoes and bags. Do you have quality items you no longer use? Drop them off at the information point in the hall. Prefer to donate money? That's possible too, and every contribution makes a real difference.

👉 The stand is here for one month. Come by and see for yourself.

Most people don’t need a gym.
They need a sidewalk.🚶🏻

Walk to Work Day is a simple reminder that the smartest upgrade to your workday isn’t another app or meeting: it’s movement! A short walk a day takes your problems away!

At Central Park, we actively support the initiative from Wandelnet! And we invite all our tenants to join Walk to Work Day and take that first step, literally.

🌍 Earth Hour 2026

This Saturday, from 20:30 to 21:30, Central Park joins Earth Hour by switching off non-essential lighting. Not as a pause in progress, but as a reminder that progress must be sustainable.
From 20:30 to 21:30, we stand alongside millions worldwide in support of climate awareness and responsible energy use. We invite our community to take part and reflect on the role we all play: what can you add to build a sustainable future?

Sometimes impact lives in something very small. It can even start with an empty can or bottle.

At Central Park in Utrecht, deposit returns are given a different purpose. The people who work here collect them for Hapkracht. This helps ensure that children in Utrecht can count on a healthy lunch and extra physical activity at school. Simple, straightforward, nothing complicated. And in this way, we are more than just a place to work as a building.

In the article, you can read more about how this collaboration came about and how something small can still make a big difference.

Central Park as a place where impact comes together

Last weekend, a group of committed professionals gathered for a meeting of Stichting Interplast Holland, made possible by the initiative of Use/Space.

Interplast Holland is a nonprofit organisation offering voluntary medical care in low income countries, with a strong focus on plastic surgery and burn care. Their work is not just about performing operations. It is about giving children and adults the chance to fully participate again, physically, mentally and socially, within their own communities.

What makes their mission truly powerful is the long term vision. By working alongside local surgeons and training medical staff, they help build healthcare systems that continue long after they leave.

It is inspiring to see how a gathering in one place can contribute to lasting impact far beyond it.

“I can see straight through a building”
Meet Joanne Roozenburg, Portfolio Manager Offices at Bouwinvest

A quick introduction
With over 25 years in office real estate, Joanne knows the Dutch skyline like the back of her hand. She worked on countless buildings from Rotterdam to Amsterdam, including the development of Central Park in Utrecht. “There was a time I knew every office in Rotterdam,” she laughs. “If someone mentioned a tenant, I’d probably met them.”

From asset to portfolio
Since 1 September, Joanne oversees Bouwinvest’s full offices portfolio. “Asset managers are on the ground with the buildings. I set the course and make sure we deliver on our promises to investors.” Still, she stays close to the action. “I like knowing what’s happening on the floor: that’s where the real stories are.”

People first, then numbers
“Buildings perform when people want to stay,” Joanne says. Every year, Bouwinvest runs tenant satisfaction surveys, and they genuinely use the feedback. “Someone at Central Park mentioned they missed a gym. A few weeks later, we had a partnership with a local gym offering discounted memberships. Small idea, big impact.”

Testing, tweaking, improving
Innovation is part of the job. “We love to experiment. Shared mobility, pickup points, water taps: some work, some don’t. That’s fine, as long as we keep learning.” Sustainability also runs through everything. “It’s not just about energy labels. It’s about how people feel in our buildings and the footprint we leave behind.”

A few Central Park stories
She lights up when talking about Central Park. “I love that moment of calm at the barista bar on level 11, where you order through an iPad because the barista is hearing impaired. It slows you down in the best way.” And then there’s the famous Lego model of Central Park: “Over ten thousand pieces. We once moved it for a presentation: it collapsed. We rebuilt it overnight. I’m still considering glue,” she laughs.

Seeing through buildings
“My father was a vet. When he retired, he said he could look straight through a cow. I always say: I can look straight through a building,” Joanne grins. “I walk in and see what works and what doesn’t, though I try to wait a few days before telling everyone.”

Your turn
“Got an idea for your building or its services? Tell the property team. We love trying new things, and sometimes the best ideas come straight from the people inside.”
