June 18th 2024. Protected by the threes during the bright midnight sun, easier to get some sleep in the night, and no sauna-feeling when waking up! Also the Bodø area tends to be windy, so the trees will catch a lot of that wind.

Today we have added new gravel to the area before the season. This to make the area more level, but also to better support load when it rains outside. The gravel is a sort that is mixed with a little bit of soil, so hopefully during the summer also these areas will become green again. This was a necessary upgrade as it was a bit soft in rainy days, and that there were some low spots on the field where water would build up during rain. Hopefully these problems are now gone.

Feedback in comments! ⤵️ What was good, and what needs to be improved? Please keep in mind that this is a parking site, and not a camping site, so adding thing like toilet, electricity or tap water is not very likely 🙈

Petrol station. Toilet and greywater disposal for free. Key for filling water available for free inside during opening hours.

Caravan dealer. No experience with this, but it is suppose to both dispose of greywater and toilet, but toilet for free as I understand it. Drinking water should be available all hours.

Coop Extra Tverlandet - 9 min / 10 km
The biggest store in the area, and maybe the cheapest. Has a big store for Monday - Saturday, and a small store for Sundays.

Hiking map of the island that you now are on! Popular destionations is the small summit of "Storebranden", the "Gapahuk" (Norwegian hiking shelter, can be seen from the road on the hillside) halfway there and the small beach by "Nerholmen". Also "Kjellbukta" at the east side of the island has a hidden and small beach.

CAUTION! Be sure to avoid the current around the small bridge of Gøystraumen. It's a small, but very powerful current.
