Hundene er i sofaen og det begynner å bli sølete ute. Så jeg tømte kassen med blå stoffer og sydde et teppe som er lettere å vaske enn det sofaen er. Det eneste jeg kjøpte, var to fleecetepper som ble brukt som fyll. Resten er - rester, både forsiden og baksiden. Og jeg ble kvitt en kasse blått.

Welcome to my quilt page! Over the years since I started quilting in 1978, I have made quite a few and I have pictures of several of them here.. Some of the older ones I need to transfer from 35 mm slides to e-format, so these will be added later.

In addition to that, I was the person who initiated and ran the Norwegian Quilter's Association's drive "Tepper som varmer" - Warming quilts. I started this drive in 1995 and ran it for 10-15 years, collecting quilts from quilters in Norway and distributed them to permanently ill kids in several hospitals. We started with the cancer hospital, and added cancer units in other university hospitals, then added other long-term illnesses all over Norway. By the time I stopped working for this we had collected some 3000-4000 quilts, and now, nearly 30 years later, the drive is bigger than ever. I am actually proud to have started this! And even more proud that it continues so many years later. Each kid gets to choose a quilt that will be his/hers forever. See also the page Tepper som Varmer.

Military quilt 2. A friend of a friend had seen the picture of my grandson's military quilt and asked me to make one for her grandkid. She bought fabric and I made it, but that was of course not as personal as the one made from my son-in-law's military uniforms. And as this did not include a dog, my dog decided to be a part of the picture.

Alaska quilt. While in Alaska I bought some typical Alaska-motive fabric and also some other fabrics, not quite knowing what to do with them. Some seminole, some stripes, some solids and some arrows, and it actually turned out quite OK. The colors on the detailed pictures are more correct, as it is not so brownish as the main picture. But lighting was not good. I gave it to my nephew as he loves the outdoors, both fishing and hunting.

What can be more fun than Bargello? Actually almost everything. I bought a jelly roll with 50 different solids and though bargello would be fun. NOT! All those meeting point to match.... Never again! My youngest grandson was happy about it. The top picture is when it is done. The bottom picture is before the quilting and I added a few more rows to make it wider. He chose the backing fabric and Theresa Ward quilted it for us. Bargello done in 2022 and quilting done in 2023.
