Røykvarslere / Smoke alarms
We have installed new smoke alarms in both Valøyslyngen and Strindvegen. These are "intelligent" detectors of the type Google Nest Protect. They are placed in all rooms, common rooms and any technical room and create their own wireless network for communication any warnings and/or alarms.
Information about the detectors
Google Nest Protect
Detects smoke, heat, steam and carbon monoxide.
Sound checks:
The units performs a sound check about once a month, at around midday.
Visual status:
When lights are turned off the units will show a visible green light if everything is ok with the unit
Path light:
This function is disabled for units in each bedroom. For units placed elsewhere if is dark motion will activate a white light.
All units are interconnected.
“Nest button” is the area inside the colored light.
Be careful with the Nest Protect units. They are very expensive.
If one reports poor battery capacity, please inform me and we’ll get new (high performance) batteries.
Alarms:
What is a Heads-Up?
Nest Protect gives you an early warning that smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) levels are rising. When Nest Protect senses smoke or carbon monoxide below emergency levels, it pulses yellow and tells you what’s happening: “Heads-Up: there’s smoke in the bedroom.”
Can I silence a Heads-Up?
Heads-Up voice alerts can be silenced by pressing the Nest button. After silencing, this will give you time to identify and address the problem without a screeching alarm going off. Always make sure you are safe before silencing Nest Protect.
What is an Emergency Alarm?
When smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) reach emergency levels, Nest Protect pulses red, makes a loud sound, and tells you what and where the emergency is. “Emergency: there’s carbon monoxide in the basement. Move to fresh air.”
