Government announces timeline for RMA reform

The Government has revealed the legislative timeline for repealing and replacing the Resource Management Act 1991. Environment Minister, David Parker has stated that the new planning regime is set to pass towards the end of 2022. It will be replaced with three new laws being, Natural and Built Environments Act (NBA), a Strategic Planning Act (SPA) and Climate Change Adaptation Act (CCA), in line with the recommendations of a review commissioned by the Government in 2019.
