In preparation of Auckland moving to Alert Level 3 at midnight Tuesday, here are some pointers that we and the buyers and sellers need to keep in mind:
• Open homes are not allowed at alert level 3.
• All real estate work should occur remotely wherever possible.
• Customers, clients, or the public cannot enter offices.
• A real estate agent can visit your property to provide an appraisal, provided all health requirements are met. However, virtual property appraisals are preferred.
• Potential buyers can view a property with prior written consent of the vendor, and in the case of tenanted properties with the permission of the tenant, provided physical distancing and all health requirements are met. (No permission - No inspection)
• The vendor or the tenant should not be at the property during the viewing.
• NZ COVID Tracer app QR code or manual sign-in is mandatory when visiting a property. Each property must have a unique code. We must also keep a record of the contact details of all people who visit a property for contact tracing purposes.
• Every buyer or potential buyers visiting the property must wear a face covering (if over 12 years old), use hand-sanitiser and practice social distancing.
• There may only be two visits or viewings at a property per day, and a maximum of two visitors at one time whether from prospective buyers or professionals. Allow time to clean, with sanitising wipes all surfaces that may have been touched i.e. doorknobs, hand rails, light switches etc. between viewings.
• Purchasers & licensees must not attend the property with any professional providing services. It is recommended that they stay in contact by phone or video call if they wish to, or they must wait outside while the professional works if they need to provide access to the property.
Here at RE/MAX, during the last few weeks, we have launched our virtual platform to host auctions for properties, Auctions LIVE. Our agents can be of help to you for virtual property viewings, preparing appraisals for potential listings, connecting with buyers and sellers, and addressing your real estate needs – whatever the Alert Level.
