⚠️ALERT - WAIHOEHOE ROAD UPGRADE PROJECT ⚠️
ONE WAY CLOSURE ON NORRIE ROAD CONTINUES UNTIL 31 OCTOBER 2026
🔍www.nzta.govt.nz/waihoehoe-road-upgrade
We’ve nearly completed the installation of new stormwater connections on one side of Norrie Road between Premier Aluminium and the one- way bridge so we now can begin installation of new stormwater connections on the other side of Norrie Road.
Norrie Road will remain closed to eastbound traffic until Saturday 31 October. This closure will remain in place 24 hours 7 days a week until the work is completed.
All properties on Norrie Road will have their access maintained. To access businesses or properties on Norrie Road, you’ll need to travel westwards from the main Drury roundabout at the Great South Road/Waihoehoe Road/Norrie Road intersection. To exit, you’ll need to continue westwards on Norrie Road and travel down Firth Street to Great South Road.
Pedestrian access is possible by using the designated path past the church on Norrie Road. Please follow the path at all times and follow the instructions of our traffic management team.
A map of the detour route is at the end of this notice. An alternative option for people wanting to turn right out of Firth Street onto Great South Road is to turn left out of Firth Street and travel eastwards to the main Drury roundabout, turn around and continue westwards back down Great South Road towards Drury Interchange. We are coordinating with other projects in the area to minimise impact where possible.
No street parking will be available on Norrie Road between Great South Road and the one-way bridge for the duration of the one way closure.
Plan your journey and expect some delays as you’re travelling through the area. We thank you for your patience as we complete this important work.
