February House Price Report is here, and the headline reads: The downturn may be losing momentum as rate of house price declines ease.

New Zealand’s housing market has started 2023 on the back foot, with the nationwide average property value falling $118,000 in the last 12 months to $977,000, new OneRoof figures show.

However, the downturn may be losing momentum with quarterly rates of house price declines slowing in some regions and major metros, including Auckland and Wellington.
