One of the best parts about Barfoot and Thompson as a company is the amount of community outreach and sponsorship that the company and branches do. 🌟

Last weekend was the Women's Day Out, the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron's annual event supporting women in sailing. It brings together women "for a fantastic day of sailing and connection on the Waitemata harbour" giving women's sailing the spotlight it deserves!

A full day of sailing was followed by an evening of prizes, dinner and incredible presentations by guest speakers Erica Dawson and Serena Woodall from Emirates Team New Zealand.

This is an annual event so whether you're an experienced sailor or just starting your yachting career, be sure to mark this in your calendars for next year and join in the experience.

Winning is only the beginning 🏆💙

That was the theme of Barfoot & Thompson Summit 2026, and our North Shore teams came away with plenty to think about, talk about and put into action.

From AI and economic insights to leadership, client experience, incredible New Zealand talent and even a little magic, it was a day packed with ideas and inspiration.

For Takapuna Branch Manager Bronwyn Clark-Ashdown, Holly Ransom’s message really hit home:

“We may work in real estate, but we are really in the people business. Long after the property is sold, clients will remember how easy we made the process and, most importantly, how we made them feel.”

Browns Bay Branch Manager Darren James had a few takeaways of his own, including prioritising attention and client experience, creating a “to test” list, and exploring how AI can be used for so much more than an alternative to Google.

He also came away with one very important unanswered question…

How DID Brendan Dooley do those tricks?! 🤯😂

And of course, one of the best parts of Summit is simply getting together with colleagues from across the Barfoot & Thompson network, sharing ideas and reconnecting.

Having an amazing front desk or Administration Team can really change the experience of a Branch. We are so lucky at our office to have the most incredible team to support every aspect of the business.

Janine is our full-time admin superstar who is always the person we call whenever we need help with any issue that may arise. After moving to New Zealand from South Africa Janine worked in Corporate Administration whilst starting her family and joined our team in 2022.

We are beyond lucky to have her as part of our team, and we know that anyone who comes into contact with Janine would say the same!
