General information
The concept for the development of Hudson Brown Apartments by Herbst Architects and inspired by New York’s brownstone and loft apartments. The residential development is located on land adjacent to Mahuhu Ki Te Rangi reserve by Ted Smythe, the former Auckland Railway Station, and is across from Vector Arena. A series of five predominantly masonry buildings are interlinked with podiums and bridges over a single level of underground parking. The complex is staggered from two, to four, to six levels to take advantage of the sun and view angles. There are 134 units of varying sizes, arranged around central court areas. A sense of community and security is obtained by the units overlooking the courts, parks and sidewalk areas.
