Our in-house design team at Respond Architects recently completed the full redevelopment of an ageing teaching block at Tauranga Girls’ College - a complex project that brought together weathertightness remediation, seismic strengthening and the creation of a new Innovative Learning Environment.

Working closely with the Ministry of Education NZ, cultural advisors, engineers and school staff, we navigated structural challenges, funding reviews and evolving project requirements to deliver a future-focused space that truly supports contemporary teaching.

The result is Pūwhenua - a collaborative, culturally informed learning environment that reflects the aspirations of the school and its community.
