The Government’s decision to ease foreign buyer restrictions under the Golden Visa scheme is set to bring renewed momentum to New Zealand’s high-end property market.

Bayleys National Director – Luxury, Johnny Sinclair, says the move will restore confidence and create wider economic benefits for regions like Auckland, Queenstown, Bay of Islands, Omaha, Matakana, Hawke’s Bay, and Mount Maunganui.

He believes the threshold could go further, suggesting $3m outside Auckland and Queenstown to attract more high-net-worth individuals without impacting everyday buyers.

With offshore enquiries already climbing and interest rates expected to ease, all signs point to renewed confidence in the market.
