Difficult to put into words the impact that Blair has had since founding James Group in 2012, and building it into one of the premier boutique real estate agencies in New Zealand. One of the true legends of the industry, and the team thanks him for all that he has done over the years.

$8.2B relief for building owners

Big news for property owners and investors:
The Government has announced plans to remove %NBS from the earthquake-prone building (EPB) system and to exclude Auckland from EPB obligations. These changes are subject to legislation, but the direction is clear.

What does this mean for our clients?
Buildings with low %NBS will no longer carry the same stigma in the EPB system.
Lenders and investors can take a more balanced view, reducing unnecessary pressure on valuations and finance.

Owners in Auckland gain clarity and confidence to reinvest without the same compliance hurdles.

This is a welcome reset, and it’s already being well received by investors as a reduction in unnecessary red tape.
