Back in July, Takapuna came alive with four magical nights of light, creativity, and community spirit. The much-loved Winter Lights Festival returned from 24 – 27 July, and what a year it was!

With over 60,000 attendees, buzzing local businesses, and a truly vibrant atmosphere, 2024 was a record-breaking year for this North Shore highlight.

We’re proud that our North Shore branches, together with the wider company, played a key role as sponsors in bringing this spectacular event to life.

Some standout highlights:
🌟 Record crowds: 57,501 registered tickets plus around 20% more walk-ins
🌟 Outstanding support for local businesses
🌟 Seamless delivery despite the jump in attendance

2025 is an especially meaningful year - it marks the 50th anniversary of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori. For half a century, this kaupapa has encouraged us all to embrace, strengthen, and celebrate the language of this land.

Last Thursday, nearly 650 members of the Barfoot & Thompson family came together at Eden Park for our annual Quiz Night Fundraiser in support of Starship 💙

The night was full of laughter, celebrity appearances, delicious food, and plenty of friendly competition.

✨ The impact
We’re proud to share that Quiz Night 2025 raised an incredible $188,694 for Starship Children’s Hospital! Thanks to the generosity of so many, this will help fund vital medical equipment that makes a life-changing difference for children, their whānau, and hospital staff.
