It was great to formally give the new Te Awanga residential development an identity with street names. The entrance road will be called Te Awanga Terraces, which acknowledges the terraced-style sections within the development that all provide unique views and aspects and the internal off-road is now called Haggerty Green - after a long standing former owner of the property Eric Haggerty. Mr Haggerty was well known in the community and it was great to have some of his family participate in the formal ceremony along with Matahiwi kaumatua Edward Timu and local ward councillors Ann Redstone and and HBCR councillor Jerf van Beek and Tukituki MP Anna Lorck - ALL 4 Tukituki.
Guests included young families that will call Te Awanga home.

A stunning Saturday afternoon to bless the new development and the street names with relatives of former land owners, local councillors Ann Redstone and Alwyn Corban, regional councillor Jerf van Beek, MP for Tukituki Anna Lorck - ALL 4 Tukituki and Tim Wilkins and John Harmon.

It's been a busy Easter out in Te Awanga. The surf was up for a couple of days while the wineries and cafes were very busy.
