Appreciation post ✨️✨️

A huge congratulations to Sharni from .bichan_refined , who became the first female from New Zealand to qualify for the Australasian Auctioneer competition, and then went on to become the first female to take out an official title.

That is not just a personal achievement. That is history.

Auctioneering has come a long way over the years. For a long time, the call room, the auction floor and the competition stage were spaces heavily dominated by men. But slowly, steadily and powerfully, women have risen through the ranks.

I truly believe there has never been a better time to be a female auctioneer and feel supported by the whole fraternity.

But moments like this do not happen by accident. They happen because of the women who came before us , the ones who dug their heels in, held their ground and said, we ain’t going anywhere that now stand as respected leaders in this space. The women who kept showing up when it was harder. The women who backed themselves before the industry fully knew how to back them. The women who created space simply by refusing to leave it.

Because of them, we now stand in a time where there is genuine support from everyone, real recognition and a growing belief that female auctioneers do not just belong in the room but can lead it.

So here’s to Sharni for all her hard work, to all the intellegent and beautiful women who paved the way forward for us and continue to lead by example and here’s to every female auctioneer coming through next.

The gavel is in good hands 🔥🔥🔥

P.s if you read this and rolled your eyes, I hope tomorrow you forget your lunch on the bench that you were excited to eat 🤣
