For the last five years, my family has called Pegasus our Home and in particular, the Pegasus Golf Course is really close to our hearts, it’s Home to me, my family, the most stunning and beautiful wildlife, ducks (including blue ducks!), swans, fantails, Pūkekos, eels and more, every year I watch the new life come into this green space, a space where people can enjoy recreation, sunshine, fresh air, and the rebirthing of never-ending wildlife! Not to mention the beautiful golfing atmosphere, on a championship level golf course, that is part of a master planned community. 
Like tonnes of other people in Pegasus, we invested into this area because of this golf course, and we invested with everything we had to be able to live here - we, like every other buyer did our due diligence and we believed that we were investing to live on a golf course that had special zoning - which protected our asset. Some people feel that zoning doesn’t matter, clearly - but what precedence does this set? Is any land with special zoning, safe in New Zealand?
Imagine them chopping up Hagley Park?  that’s a pretty nice place to live, I’m sure they could fit oodles of residential development in there!
There is at least 27 years of development potential in the Waimakariri region, they do not need our golf course.
I am very supportive of development in general, but it must work with and not contradict or hinder the district plan that has already been approved.  
Please, I ask anyone in my network who cares about limiting developers ability to fast track applications, without proper community consultation, sign our petition. Every single signature helps raise public interest.

Wolfbrook Residential, the new owners of the Pegasus Golf Course have been clear in their intentions to replace our golf course with housing.
The Pegasus community has been just as clear: we don't want that to happen.
There is a real risk this redevelopment could be pushed through the Government’s Fast-Track process, bypassing proper consultation and limiting our community’s voice.
We cannot let that happen.
We’ve launched a petition asking Parliament to ensure any proposal for Pegasus Golf Course goes through the normal public planning process, with full transparency and community input.
We’re pleased to have support from Dan Rosewarne MP and Matt Doocey MP who have indicated their willingness to support and present this petition to Parliament. Their bipartisan support shows that this is about fair process and protecting our community.
