We were very fortunate to have a private tour of One New Zealand Stadium yesterday, ahead of the public tours coming next month π€©ποΈ
From venturing around the concourse, to experiencing the coaches boxes and even exploring the corporate suits, we got to see it all π€©
We learned about the construction of the stadium, the cultural aspects that were brought into the design, the intricacies of how to maintain the field, and the inner workings of operating the venue π²
As an avid rugby fan, Izzy was absolutely enthralled by the entire tour and was so eager to learn and experience it all... and so was I π₯°
This all crescendoed into the ultimate moment: stepping inside the players locker room and feeling the mana of where they get ready for war πͺ
We also explored the multipurpose areas for training, warm ups, recovery, medical treatment and strategising.
To know that this is where the Crusaders now call home, and the All Blacks will soon setup to kick off the new season was almost overwhelming.
We've waited over a decade to have a proper stadium to call home again... and boy was it worth the wait.
A special thank you to Geoff Napier for taking the time to take us on the tour, and for making it so much fun for Izzy. And to Todd Schmidt for organising the tour for us.
If you haven't already, you need to book in a tour through Venues Εtautahi. It is such a remarkable initiative that the entire family will love β€οΈποΈ
