Sometimes a property sale is about so much more than property.

For Jo Warren of Raine & Horne St Martins, helping 84-year-old Bev sell her much-loved family home and move into a retirement unit became a powerful reminder of the human side of real estate.

With a background in nursing and experience working with elderly patients, Jo understood that moving home can be a significant and emotional life transition.

On auction day, Bev’s daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchild and partner gathered to support her. After the successful sale, the new owners stayed to celebrate with Bev and her family rather than simply taking the keys and leaving.

As one of Bev’s daughters told Jo: “Thank you for all your mahi and understanding with Mum. Not everyone gets it.”

For Jo, it was a reminder that sometimes the most meaningful part of a sale is the people and connections that come with it.
