Brent McGrath is one of our Christchurch Valuers. Brent’s professional career began with State Insurance, where he worked for 10 years gaining knowledge in all aspects of the general insurance industry including residential policy sales, administration and claims handling, eventually moving into a commercial account management role taking care of commercial and farming client’s requirements.
During this time, Brent got into residential property investment, something that has become a life-long passion.
After spending a couple of years in the UK, he returned to New Zealand and commenced a retail sales role at Harvey Norman in the electrical department, progressing to an assistant management role.
In 2010, Brent decided to pursue his interest in property by undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Valuation & Property Management. Brent commenced working for Colliers International in Christchurch during his final year of studies and commenced full time employment in late 2013, gaining registration in early 2017.
During his initial years at Colliers, Brent gained experience in the valuation of residential, lifestyle, commercial and industrial properties, including market, rental and insurance valuations. From 2015, Brent also became involved in the specialised field of aged care and retirement village valuation.
Brent’s aim is to provide the highest level of service to our clients, drawing on his background in valuation, insurance and property investment to help clients with their property decisions.
