Today marks 1 week since I moved my life overseas
& I want to share something about ✨ABUNDANCE✨
I am someone who will talk to anyone, I carry zero judgement when it comes to what you do or don't have (I've also been proven time and time again that the people with LESS always GIVE the MOST). I strike conversations in both English and my broken Arabic which lightens the atmosphere and removes any tension between the two ethnicities. I find westerners here feel they are superior to the locals, I am that point of difference and LOVE the locals. I have a lot of respect for their way of life and how they juggle the harshness of reality here.
NOW
When I was here in 2016 I purchased my fresh produce off a local man named Mohamed. We developed a very good relationship over the course of a year. This goodbye was one of the harder ones as he was such a genuine and kind soul ALWAYS giving me fruits just when I walked by his shop and a person I didn't know if I would see ever again.
Fast forward 8 years, he hears the news from a little birdie that I am returning and is super excited to see me. I go in there the second day I am back. Not only was I met with the warmest hug, a smile from ear to ear and a man left speechless and repeating how much he missed me and how happy he is to have me back, I was also blessed with the greatest abundance HEALTH.
After having a wee catchup and talking about this and that we were looking around at all fruits and veges. Stac wanted to get some figs (which I don't really enjoy) so he got one for her and let her try it first. Stac LOVED it and her reaction to the sweetened goodness encouraged me to try it also. Mohamed got a fig for me to try, and much to my surprise I LOVED it too! He then packaged up a tray of figs for us.
When looking at all the other fruit and vegetables we chose an array. We ended up leaving with figs, onions, kumara, cucumber, carrots, eggplant, pawpaw, and 7kg watermelon!
As we were busy eating our figs, I watched Mohamed whisper something into mums ear whilst smiling at me. He turned around and said, 'This is a gift from me to you for coming back to Egypt, Wallah I am soo happy you are back'. At first I didn't want to accept this kind gesture but refusing this would be rude and shameful for him. Not only did he gift us with this abundance of beautiful, plump, ripe, FRESH produce that he grows himself, but he personally hand delivered it to our apartment too.
Now
When I say I LOVE this country, this is one of the MANY reasons why, beautiful people EVERYWHERE!
I am forever grateful for these special kind of relationships, and the abundance the friendship blesses me with continuously 🌟
