Across the past 12 months, our rental listings spent an average of 20 days on the market, compared with 29.4 days across greater Canterbury.

Reducing vacancy time can help protect an investor’s cash flow, but speed is only one part of the process. Our focus remains on presenting each property well, responding quickly to enquiry, and securing the right tenant, not simply the first tenant.

The latest Trade Me rental data available in July points to a steady winter market. Median rent across Christchurch, Waimakariri and Selwyn held at $580 per week, while tenant search activity remained 17% higher than a year ago.
