Dale Maisey - Raine & Horne

Dale Maisey - Raine & Horne Dale is an experienced real estate agent, specializing in residential property sales in Canterbury.

I joined the Real Estate industry in 2014, specialising in residential property sales. Being skilled in communication and negotiation from years in the travel industry, I believe I give my clients a head start when selling and buying property. Born and raised on a sheep farm in Southland, I went to Canada and England for an agricultural based OE before returning to NZ. For the next 20 years I was owner/operator of a successful Christchurch travel agency before selling up just prior to the 2010 Canterbury earthquakes. Following personal challenges faced by living in the eastern suburbs, I enjoyed a change of pace and spent four years working in not-for-profit organisations before re-entering the business world and completing my Real Estate Salesperson Licence.

Always keen to continue the learning journey - I took some time over the slower winter months to complete some upskilling study and secured a Level 5 Real Estate licence through the Open Polytech - officially called a Branch Manager licence but for me it is simply a higher level of sales qualification. Now I am back on deck and ready for spring/summer of selling! πŸ“œ

This very cute 2 bedroom villa in The Maltworks (over 50's) Lifestyle Village proved very popular amongst the older folk not yet ready for a retirement unit. The lucky purchasers had missed out on the last one so they were primed, prepped and ready to offer later the same week they first viewed. The strategy paid off and they move in early October πŸ’πŸΎπŸ‘Œ

This is a wee gem of a villa in the "over 50's lifestyle village" at the former Maltworks site. The village is in a very picturesque setting with a lovely nod to history. Villa 48 was a real hit with buyers at the first open home - comments such as: "sun trap"; "peaceful & private"; "surprising storage" and "better than others we've seen..." probably mean it won't be vacant for very long at all! πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Wow, what a riot! This was the movie for my 2026 private screening for clients and supporters. It was...interesting, there was never a dull moment and most of my guests left in fits of laughter for various reasons. THANK YOU to everyone for your fabulous support - see you at next year's event 🎬🍿🍷🍺

This property was also left in Alistair's capable hands while I holidayed to warmer climes. Interestingly it sold to a buyer through my very first open home back in early June. That buyer submitted an offer for the deadline that was declined by my Vendor. After a few weeks the buyer submitted an improved offer that was accepted. Property sales are seldom a sprint in this market - though sometimes they can truly be a marathon...I put this one at "middle-distance"! Nice work Alistair, thank you!πŸƒπŸ»β€βž‘οΈπŸ˜Š

This was another listing that Alistair looked after while I was on my winter sojourn - he did an awesome job! These lovely first home buyers are thrilled with their purchase and my Vendors get to move forward - we are all very happy with the outcome 😊

When I first viewed Richard & Deb's rental I could see the potential - though I had to look hard beyond the overgrown trees, garden, 70's kitchen, dim lighting and doggy carpet. It was a happy outcome that Richard & Deb trusted my recommendations - job done πŸ‘

The buying/selling process is becoming more technical and stressful than in the "old days". Good communication and making a sound plan are vital to secure a positive outcome for buyers and sellers. Andrew and Sammi had a bit of a journey with purchasing in Santa Rosa Ave but we got there in the end - a very happy outcome for everyone πŸ’

With a growing family Ben & Sam needed more space. They knew that trying to offer "subject to sale" in Prebbleton would not be easy so they trusted the universe to deliver and put their home up for auction with a long settlement. My Birchwood Close property came onto the market at the perfect time - they sold at auction and had their offer accepted on this fabulous location the same day! Their plan worked perfectly πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
