As many of you know, I came into real estate with a strong desire to help whānau Māori get into homes and to show Māori that we are here and that we belong in this space.

Whilst the mahi has been slower than I would have hoped for, I am extremely grateful to have crossed paths with Tama Emery - Harcourts - brother, you are changing the game in a massive way for our people.

Not a real estate post per se, but I post I had to share nonetheless.

It was only a few years ago (whilst I was studying) that my whānau and I were using our oven to heat our whare because it was our only option (the struggle was real), and sadly, this, amongst other similar stories is found far to common here in Aotearoa. It is a sad truth that too many of our whānau struggle just to keep the lights on 💡

And that's what makes Nau Mai Rā so incredible, a kaupapa Māori power company that wants to help our struggling whānau. Anyone can join, you pay the same or less, and a portion of what you pay goes towards helping our whānau in need.

Having interned with Ez and Ben a few summers ago, I can 100%, wholeheartedly say, these brothers are for the people 💯💯

A few weeks ago, I posted a pānui asking if anyone knew or could offer their whakaaro behind what the Māori word for 'Open home' could be. Within this photo, are some of the suggestions that were shared, a massive mihi to everyone who offered their whakaaro and their ideas👏👏👏

With very few Māori in real estate and with only a tiny percentage of Māori being homeowners here in Aotearoa, I'm going to have a lot of similar pātai - we're in uncharted territory at the moment 😂

Whilst I'm by no means an expert in anything Māori, I look forward to continuing to create this space with you all.

With a sick tama in bed today 🤒 I'll be chilling/working from home until wifey finishes uni 🎓
So with this time, I've been experimenting in our automated emailing system and managed to find the market report link for Waikato 📈

Nō reira, if you're keen to get a market report on your suburb, just click on the link and check it out 👀👀 there's some pretty cool stats, usually takes me AGESSS to figure out when I'm doing appraisals (guess who's going to put together appraisals so much faster now 😁😁😁), now we can get it all super fast 🥳🥳

When you click on the link, you'll be taken to the email, just click on the 'market update' button then good to go. Just choose a suburb on the map then it will work out the stats, easy as 🤙

Here's some cool things it showed for Ngāruawāhia:

"Ngaruawahia has seen property prices increase 72.1% over the past three years and increase by 32.1% in the last 12 months. If you'd bought a home three years ago in Ngaruawahia you'd have paid $430,000 in 2019, while in 2022 the same property now costs $740,000."
